Default GT3RS with new 20/21" Trofeo R Fitment....finally!

Well after finally taking delivery of my new RS, I didn't waste any time doing 2 things....
1) Installing the GMG Center Section
and
2) Putting on a set of the new 20/21" Trofeo R setup on BBS FI-R wheels.....

More to come after some track testing and more upgrades but here are a few pics...

Nice. I'm curious to hear if you can feel the weight difference between the wheels.

Are Trofeo R's better than Sport Cup II's? Ortho Joe didn't seem to think so and he had data to back it up....

The wheels look amazing.
How do they look on the car?

James, are you going to do a back to back testing with SC2's vs Trofeo R's? I've had Trofeo R's on a few of my cars and have never liked them (not Porsches but most recently a new Z28). I've found SC2's to be a better tire for the street and track. I think Orthojoe also found on his GT3 they weren't as good as once thought to be.

I didn't like them on my GT4 either. Maybe they'll make RE71Rs in the RS sizes...

I loved my earlier Trofeo Rs, but on my previous cars the tires have been "bigger" and wider then the Michelins. On my RS today, the last thing I want is bigger tires becouse it's so tight with the fenders.

Can you put them side by side and take some pictures?

I plan to test the car in the next month and will post pics/info/etc upon doing so.

We are also launching a new Porsche Motorsport inspired Header system for track focused GT3's and RS's which is very exciting.

We are installing everything on this RS, the new Carbon Sparco Seat, our custom mounts, new header, monoball suspension, aero bits, etc.....it will be the R&D workhorse for the next 6 months....

Racing the GT3R this past year has given us so much knowledge on the 991 Chassis and I can't wait to get the RS on the track....

Regarding the Trofeo R's vs the MPSC tires, we were 1.2 seconds faster in my GT3 with the Trofeo R's at Thermal....same day, same track, same conditions with our race techs monitoring the tire pressures very closely each time the cars came in and out of the pits...

great!
what about set-up? I remember on 997 RS Trofeo R needed more camber than mpsc1 to work properly...

This is good news, I assume they're N spec as well?

On my previous GT3, the Trofeo R (N spec) felt grippier on track but much stiffer sidewalls and compromised on the street. I never had a back-to-back, but good to know that this is now an option. I remember they seemed more responsive - probably due to the stiffer side walls. Also tried a set of non-N spec Trofeo R on my old car and they did not feel anywhere near as good as the N spec tyres. Also, lap times were similar to N spec Cup 2s...

James

Do you recommend to use more negative camber front and rear with trofeo R compared to MPSC2?

I also fount that the trofeo r are faster after a few seassions at the track compared to the first session where I am slower than with MPSC2 or maybe I m just getting used to them.
