So after all these comments, what is the real price for this car? Didn't someone just pay 1.3 for one? If you knew of one that was for sale right now and could get your hands on it, what would you really pay? Clearly this is a supply/demand situation.

I was at that dealer today and it sounds like it's just there as an attention getter. I'm sure it's for sale if the offer is silly enough but it doesn't appear to have an asking price. The supply and demand is speaking right now. No one is crazy enough to actually pay $1M+ for one.

I was told today that a verifiable sale of one at 1.3MM just happened? Does anyone have info to support such a claim? That is a ton of cash for this one of 991 unicorns...

So true

Right now the number seems to be 550-600k. West Broward real asking price was quoted at 650 but I was told that they'd take 600. I was also told the car was "sold" but they were just waiting on an incoming wire. The Pelican car ask was 575k. Both cars are loaded.

Can't wait for Geneva 2017! When they release the 991.2gt3 4.0l.

Anyone buying a 991R for $600k can probably expect a $300k kick in the nuts.

Total 991! A UK based Porsche mag just released this. They are normally up to date but it seems like 991.2gt3 could be launched earlier than we expect.

Wow, it would be a very interesting development if we see the 991.2 in the flesh a month from now, while 991.1 R and RS are still in production...

The flipping of the 911R(s) may in the long run be a good thing.

The 918 VIPs that have amazing collections and are/or who true enthusiasts have and will keep arguably the best overall best street Porsche ever built. Allot of these great guys we are fortunate to have on this forum and I really enjoy their posts and perspective and real word reviews. Also a great source for some inside info.

For the flippers it hopefully means more future GT and exclusive vehicles available to the general public as they will be out of the program. The $$ value of the R like most things will sort out over time. I don't have the attitude that I want it to tank. It should be what Porsche intended it to be a super super exclusive car. They could have been a little more honest about it. I think having it on the configurator was a little to much. Why be happy if it tanks the flipper already made his money.

Funny I ask myself what I would do in similar position. Although I am comfortable financially it would be tough to pass up a 400K payday. Even for some 918 VIPs this might be worth it as who knows what the future brings.

This also helps me put into perspective why I never "deserved" this car in the first place. Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to be in a position to own and keep one but I'm not a 918 VIP (those guys anted up allot of money at a time when things were less than certain) and no where close in terms of my Porsche buying history as most here on Rennlist but I'm trying. I think there were only 7 non 918 guys who got a 911R. Those would be the guys to direct anger towards if they decided to flip as they must have been hand selected.

I was "first" on 2 lists. Champion Porsche and Porsche Fairfield. This was so early on when the R rumor first surfaced. Both dealers had no idea what I was talking about but took a deposit. Then when the Rennsport Edition came out they both told me I didnt get the "R". This was nice that they actually tried to get me a limited car but I redirected them to the 911 "R"

Anyway from what I remember the 911R initially was to be a non- wide body 911 N/A lightweight manual non GT drivers car that was not to be limited. Sounds nice. Hopefully Porsche is listening. Maybe the move to turbos changed the approach; not sure.
