Money2536's Dyno Testing of TTFS Tune and Dundon Motorsports Exhaust
So I'm pretty much living out the dream I had when I was 15 years old. On Friday morning I had schedule a trip to one of my favorite places in this world, Titan Motorsports. I jumped in the GT3 at about 6:30AM and made the hour+ long trip to South Orlando. After this, I got to head back to my office to meet live online with a follower of my Obsessed Garage stuff to obsess over their financial plan. Like I said, living my dream!
I was first on the dyno for the day. Marty, Nero, Wes and crew always roll out the red carpet for me for some reason. I've told them numerous times, that I'm the one that's excited to come see them
As usual for me, it's a bit nerve racking to put my car on the dyno doing triple digits strapped down with some nylon. Then I remind myself that they have cars with 1500+ WHP on this thing, so my baby horsepower car shouldn't be a problem.
It's reassuring when then measure, then roll, then measure again, then make adjustments, the measure, then roll. It takes a good hour to get the car set-up just to do a few pulls.
So the good news is that the car didn't fall flat on its face. I was fully expecting to make less power than I did in Feb. when I tested with the exhaust alone. It was 93 degrees with 56% humidity in the shade. If you haven't been exposed to Central, FL heat in the summer, it's impossible to explain.
I ended up doing five very consistent runs and was pleased with the results. Run 9 was my baseline back in December of '14, the 15 was with the exhaust alone, and Run 2 was with the TTFS tune.
To recap, the car has:
Dundon Motorsports T321 Stainless Steel Race Headers with Flapped Side Delete
The tune makes power, we've shown this on my car on the dyno. The issue here was testing method, and conditions being very different. The 991 GT3 is very sensitive to intake temps and with the ambient conditions being 90+F, and the car not having fans blowing air into the engine air intake (as it would have when driving) the intake temps were likely 120-130F. That's where the car pulls timing to protect itself. So seeing that it's only 10whp down is actually pretty encouraging.
The tune for the 991 GT3 with the Dundon Race Headers is good for 10-12whp vs the 40whp the headers alone give. Comes down to each individual to decide if it's worth it. For those that want the most, it's worth it!
I can say this, most have just headers, we're happy either way!
I wonder what the hp would be with headers only with my Sharkwerks cat back on my 991 GT3RS
Our 991 GT3/RS headers and valved side deletes work with the stock center muffler.
Many RS owners have our system and are very happy with the power gains and dual personality of the system. Beautiful song under power and able to talk comfortably in the car when just cruising.
Very interesting. This is where I was 10 years ago... getting tunes, dynoing my cars to show more HP. I never felt I lacked HP in my GT3 while tracking or when driving on the streets. At this stage, I would appreciate more skill and more grip, but I do not need more Hp. When I learn to extract 98% performance from my car, I may consider a HP gain.

I'm completely with you. This whole project for me was more about sound than power. The power just came as a bonus.
