Very disappointing. I would request to have their Regional Rep come and check out car.

I have never seen anything like this

I think it would look like that if your pour brake fluid on and let it soak overnight...

Paint flaking is not normal. Chips look much different. Stick to your guns. Ask if they have an example of other cars with this happening.

I had paint issues with my Macan Turbo and the regional P rep came to my dealer and basically told me to pound sand and that they wouldn't fix it. My dealer took care of me and bought the car back for retail private party value and gave me a great deal on a new Cayenne in order to try to make up for Porsche's sloppy dealing of the matter.

Was your Macan also black?

I've got to know about one more black car with same sort of problem.

Are you the original owner? Has this area ever been repainted? Is this area washed with a pressure washer?

There is a layer of rock guard paint below the color paint. That's why there's that raised stripe of texture along the bottom of the car. This is spongy and is supposed to flex when a rock hits it to prevent this sort of damage. If new paint is applied over it without the proper priming the paint will flake off as the rock guard flexes to absorb impact damage. You'd be surprised how much crap hits this area of the car just driving down the highway at high speed.

I'm the second owner. The first owner was ironically PAG itself.

This area was never repainted in my possession of this car. It's washed where I always wash all my cars, including my former black 7.2TT and black 7.1 Carrera. No issues ever with other cars. Also the other side of the car shows nothing similar to this.

I believe this white-grey stuff is probably a layer of rock guard painting. If it was black, it would be looking ok. Now it looks ugly.

Sorry to see this kind of damage to your car. I would say, it's not normal. as others have said, see if you can get a rep to look at it.

This. That's not normal and should be rectified.

I suspect this area was painted again outside of the Factory- just my $.02

I don't think there is any way rock chips could do what is pictured. I'd take the car to a good body shop and get their opinion. I'm betting on repaint/repair.

The top surface on my GT3's spoiler had a bunch of small circular sanding marks on it. The rep tried to tell me it was from the protective film. I told they didn't put film on that area. Told me to leave it out in the sun and it would go away. Might have had I left the keys in it and running.

I've seen that kind of thing from way too much pressure from a pressure washer on bad paint but never in the course of normal washing. Hope it works out for you!

+1 on the pressure washer over previously repainted surface. Thiis is where you should explore.
