Trying to understand Porsche!

Guys do not try to play "invest my nest egg to drive it AND THEN flip it" games.
Just stop.
The real Flippers are connected, dad's dealership, uncle is on the board, mom's the cleaning lady etc. and they have to flip 10 cars to keep one.
Just drive what you have- but if you drive it and love it- just buy the next one and don't sell.
Instead of flipping one for the other, don't buy anything until you can afford to keep this and the one you own already. Be more thoughtful in your purchases and eventually you'll have a real collection. If you have to pass on the .1 for the .2 every time, you'd have a 2011, a 2018/19, a 2025, etc. you can 1000% afford to buy and keep them all if you spread them out like that.
You don't need to keep a 07 GT3, 08RS 10GT3,11RS, 15GT3, 16RS that is too redundant for a "regular dude".
I'd rather spend half of those cars and roll into a CGT, or 993 RS etc.
Just stop.

Problem is that some buy these cars with their brain instead of their heart!
Buy what you love and mentally prepare yourself that the car is worth 50% of Msrp after 3 years! You'll be a lot happier and enjoy the car.

You will always feel shafted whenever the new car comes out. Be happy with what you have, or be patient and wait for what you think is the right car to come, or else you will never be happy as the new will just make you want to buy it. That's the name of the game. Porsche is a business, not a feelings counselor. And this brings me to the point that I just posted a few moments ago.

Can't see any circumstance where a later generation GT3 would be considered preferable to an RS... The new car might get 500hp and manual but it won't be an RS and will depreciate accordingly in any case.
Porsche have pretty much said that there will never be a manual RS option as they don't want PDK Gt3s faster than RSs so unless a manual is a must for you, you will be in the better car until the next generation RS comes along in any case...
Having spent a couple weeks in Europe on a track frenzy with Trakcar last year, I certainly don't see how you could feel shafted by Porsche's decision... The 991 RS is just amazing and this coming from a manual lover... Also, the perfect partner to a 997 GT car if you want a manual in your stable. Just saying

Three Wheelin'
I saw an immediate reaction in European asking prices last week. Lowest car before was 250k EUR, most were higher, some were 300k and more. Last week the bar has lowered. Prices are at 225k EUR for the lowest non selling ones. The ones priced at 210k - 215k are sold within a few days.
I speculate this is instigated by the rumors of the manual gearbox on one hand and due to the fact that there were much more RS build than planned. Seems a lot of those are coming to the market. I've seen a few official dealers advertising their RS in Germany now for 225k.
Maybe the bubble has finally popped on the RS over here in Europe !

In prior generations they have made less RS than GT3. in 991.1 generation it is no longer the case. Maybe they are preparing us for the last of the RS NA. If thats the case and the 991.2 GT3 engine proved to have the version 3 reliability fixes then medium to long term that could be a collectible car?

Understand PORSCHE??? Covered in your basic Econ 101 class.
PORSCHE is in business to sell MORE cars and keep making $$$$ well beyond the 2016 RS.
They aren't concerned about currents owners 401K's/retirement plans and how well they'll do owning their cars after the sale. Seriously? Think they're Amway or something?
Their goal is to keep selling cars and profiting themselves. What's new??
Buy a car you like, can afford to have whatever the market does, and enjoy it.
The issue as mentioned here: Too many purchases based on the bubble pricing over the last 4-5yrs.
Soon ..... It will release air. Trust me.
Certain business sectors are showing a slow down already which have been indicators of the previous few recessions. 2017-2018 could be a bit stormy. Get your raincoats out.

Also very much agree with what CJ has to say here. I cant afford an RS to take to the track, so moot point but Ive also never run against one (991 RS) as no one here wants to take them to teh track. If I had one Id be lonely out there and hard to measure my pace and speed. With GT3 & GT4 many more on the track to have fun and play with...

Think of it this way. Sitting here now would you rather own a 7.1 RS or a 7.2 GT3? I know what I would have. Admittedly if the next GT3 comes in manual that might sway some, I don't think it will for me. Even if we do get a .2 GT3 RS doesn't sound like it would come in manual and might not come at all. Happy with the RS, very happy.

MY Prediction:
.2 will be
991.2 GT2RS
and
991.2GT3
thats it!, nor more GT3RS, no more GT2.
Let it be known now! Yes i want this to happen, no i dont care that much,
This is the only way i can see Porsche gracefully keeping everyone happy from the 918 VIP to the GT3 buyer
Besides it's the way to have the GT manual "enthusiasts" car, and have a 675, 488, ect ect killer
Just my guess,
.2 will be
991.2 GT2RS
and
991.2GT3
thats it!, nor more GT3RS, no more GT2.

Just my guess,
would make sense.
but porsche dealers give pre-contracts for 991.2GT3RS and 991.2GT2RS.
and thats a good dealership what i´m speaking about. two friends of mine signed already. 1x GT2RS 1x GT3RS
