Here is a dumb question to have some fun. How is it that Ferrari's don't need the wing but our GT cars do?
My belief is that Porsche goes ***** out with the wings to differentiate the GT cars from the "Street Carrera's". After all, look at the 911R. No wing needed. They added underbody aero there. It's pretty much marketing and gives that track image. 918?? No monster wing either.
Do they serve a purpose?? Sure. I just think it's an intentional add on somewhat.
The big wing aero isn't for everyone, and not part of the Ferrari image and sleek look. It's not their thing. I don't think it appeals to their customer base much either.
Many guys that have cross shopped the GT cars here have mentioned they don't like the wing either.
I personally like the look, but just giving my outlook and option on it.

For street driving I agree, but trying going around a bend at high speed in an R v. GT3/RS and you will learn a big dirty secret.
