I think his logic is flawed and needs to learn more about past iterations of the GT3/RS.
He claims Porsche wouldn't make the 991.2 GT3 with the same or more HP than the 991.1 RS because it would ruin the value....or something like that.
997.1 GT3 RS = 415 HP
997.2 GT3 = 435 HP

Beating a dead horse,
Porsche doesn't care about value of previous cars. They are in the business to make good cars better.
991.2 gt3 will be N/A 4.0l engine with MT as option!

996.1 GT3 = 3.6L 360 HP
996.2 GT3 = 3.6L 380 HP
996 GT3 RS = 3.6L 380 HP
997.1 GT3 = 3.6L 415 HP
997.1 GT3 RS = 3.6L 415 HP
997.2 GT3 = 3.8L 435 HP
997.2 GT3 RS = 3.8L 450 HP
991.1 GT3 = 3.8L 475 HP
991.1 GT3 RS = 4.0L 500 HP
991.2 GT3 = 4.0L 500 HP
991.2 GT3 RS = 4.0L 525 HP
This is what we should expect to see.
The facelifted version of the GT3's have always had as much power and or more and larger displacement than previous non-facelifted versions. It should not be a shock if the facelifted GT3 has as much power as the current RS, nor should it harm resale. It has always been like this. It would be silly to update a car and not improve on the previous non-facelifted version. The only thing that differs now is that there are too many speculators that care more about resale than improvements in the car.

Only reason Carrera line went to turbo is because it is the volume leader of the 911 line. GT cars are so low volume any incremental MPG benefit gained by moving to more efficient engine (turbo) will hurt the GT marque value more than it would help the efficiency requirements.

What's not showing in the model and hp list is the years of production. If there was a two year gap between R/RS and GT3.2 I wouldn't be questioning any of this. Is the thinking that the GT3.2 will be shown in March 2017 with production in June/July?
I believe Whoopsy already said NA 4.0 and he likely has some of the best info. but I'm still struggling to believe it.

I agree with you 100% AC. Everyone has an agenda to their argument whether they admit it or not, myself included. I'm just trying to provide some reasoned thoughts/opinions for discussion. And I try to qualify it as such.

I think the age disparity is why he rubs people the wrong way; I'm 27 and enjoy his content for the most part. If you knew him IRL you'd probably be friends with him (and everyone else commenting in this thread).

I assumed the MT only purists were in the AARP demographic

Europeans don't prefer pdk because 80 year old German grandmas drive manual Polos.
Schmee and Salomondrid are not car " experts ",but people with cars...

Etc.
Other than that,I have no problem that they exist and some enjoy them. I don't...
