How long will you keep your GT3
Just curious with all the engine issue's, how long do you plan on keeping your 991 GT3? Is it fairly common for most owners to sell before warranty is up?

There's nothing else out there right now, regardless of price, that suits me better or that I'd rather have. I tend to keep cars that I really like for a long time and I'm warrantied until 2022 so.....

I have warranty until November of 2019 on my 2014 GT3. I will probably evaluate whether to keep it, with or without buying more warranty, or sell it in the spring of 2019. Porsche's ongoing response to the GT3 engine issues will be a factor for me.
As Mike from CA points out, although I flirted with the idea of a McLaren, nothing is out there for near the same money that does it better for me.

For me it is a keeper. The so called engine failures are primarily premature wear issues brought about by really hard use. No such thing as an indestructible engine. I have owned over 35 cars in my lifetime and honestly never had anything remotely as entertaining as the GT3. I am not into speculating wether the car will be a collectible or not. I keep it because I enjoy it.

I already got the new engine in mine but will keep until I can get a rs at a reasonable price or the warranty expires.

My plan is to have the car until 2020 at least.
My warranty is up end of 2017 and plan to renew it for 2 years.
I will only give up the GT3 before 2020 if A) i get a great deal to trade for an RS (GT3 as GT2 will be out my budget for sure) also the GT3 RS would have to be at MSRP if new and if used then below MSRP B) i get a 991.2 GT3 at a good deal with a trade in (manual is not mandatory for me)
Otherwise i am planning to hold the car until 2020 at least or until the 992 GT3/RS is released and do a trade in. I can't explain how much the GT3 has exceeded my expectations especially since i was the guy who always argued "but the car does not come in manual" which to me was always a deal breaker but after owning a non-manual GT3 i am very happy. Would i get a PDK if a manual is offered on future GT3 models, well time will only tell but for now i am very happy shifting with paddles
