Glad to see that this thread has... gained some traction... *cough* *wink*.
Very interesting to see those new photos and rumored 4.2 engine. I bet the new RS will start at about 200.
Thanks to everyone for your responses!

How would it have same performance as RS? Same motor, but more weight, narrow body, no 21" wheels, less aero, etc. New suspension would have to be very special to make up that difference. And the manual (my choice) would have a significant gearing disadvantage (6 vs. 7 ratios).
With the 3.8l in gen2 €140k makes sense. Just guessing that the price will be slightly closer to gen1rs/R if they decide to put the 4.0l in 991.2gt3.

Could be, Porsche always surprise me with what they can achieve. (Leave on the table with previous generations)! Guess we have to wait and see.

3.8L 997.2 GT3 came out in 2009 and cost $113,150
As you can see there was a fairly modest bump in price between the .1 and .2 997 GT3s even with displacement going from 3.6L to 3.8L, a cost difference of just $6,000
If the latest cleaning lady info is to be believed, hopefully the .2 GT3 won't cost more than $140,000.
I expect a NA .2 RS to be $195,000-$200,000

I expect the .2 RS to be $195,000, although it the .2RS ends up turbo with >650HP, then it will likely cost closer to $240-$250,000

Completely different market situation today. We all remember what happened between 2007 and 2010. If Porsche could hey would probably preferred to lower the price on 997gen2 compared to gen1.

There is a reason why Porsche prices its GT models reasonably. They recognize in this market place car buyers are price sensitive. If you start pricing the GT cars unreasonably high, the buyers (even Porsche enthusiast) will look elsewhere.
Porsche has long taken the position that they offer the best performance/value (I can't say that about their 911 models
) and will continue to do so with the new GT lineup.
This is a long way of saying that the increase in pricing for the GT3.2 will be less than 10%. The same for the RS.2 if they build it.
