911R Weight Reduction
#723
Considerable progress on a little something for the 911R. Screen shot of the new 6-speed carbon fiber gear box. Everything on the outside in gray will be carbon fiber.

A tested manifold from the first iteration new exhaust for the 911R. For the optimal combination of weight loss, sound and horsepower (though for a naturally aspirated flat six engine as the 911R has, there is a limit to the additional horsepower that any exhaust system can generate), this custom exhaust system is the result of attention to all details. Motorsport design was used throughout. Using racing engineering, this upgrade was constructed of equal length, stepped, thin-walled Inconel headers, 3D printed titanium and Inconel flanges and clamps and a special titanium muffler. As quality and even the smallest details mattered, fabrication was by F1 experts. Weight loss was good, the entire lightweight mod weighs approximately 23 pounds though the second iteration system should weigh less. Sound is excellent. Finally, horsepower increased by approximately 17 though performance from the second iteration system is expected to increase by an extra three HP.

That's pretty slick. Great weight savings and performance. Any sound clips?

these could be awesome in this engine, carbon fiber rods and pistons
