even if the GT2RS had the dunlops - compared to P Corsa ? on the 720 and TrofeoR ? on the Performante.
conclusion: i don´t know any monted tire of the three tested cars.

Magny cours Club / Magny cours Gp

720s - 1:16,80 1:47.05
Huracan - 1:17,17 1:47,52
Gt2 Rs - 1:17,36 1:48,74

Yes sport cup 2 n2 was on the gt2 for this test, i tried trofeo r on the gt2 it's simply an other world, this car deserve the best grip tire as possible.

I will go to many cours F1 in september with the GT2 to change this lap time table, i don't like the order of this one :-)

I wonder which tire is faster, the new Cup 2 R or the new updated Trofeo R?

Wish I had VBOX data but I only had Harry’s laptimer.
3 seconds per lap, I expected more.

Ill see if I can at least see Vmin and Vmax...

OT: There was something familiar about the way he annoys me but I could not place it. Now I figured it out:

Daniel driving Seb, busy lap.

4:50 If you are being overtaken... lift slightly. It is safer

So, here are my thoughts after 1500 miles, including a day at Silverstone GP…

2RS is fast, but is not that easy to drive (or even that well balanced) ‘out of the box’. I’ve never tweaked geo on a road car, but will need to tune in the 2RS before it’s really fast. Not just geo, but more fundamental than that. (Now, it could just be the roll/sway bars, which I haven’t touched yet). If people jump in, and switch off all the electronics before their talent has woken up, there will be trouble!

I think it’s being delivered on ‘safe’ road settings, which are noticeably too soft for track use. Had to double check I’d pressed the sports chassis button – doesn’t feel as stiff as a 3RS or a 918.

Approaching the limits, it feels like the rear roll bar is disconnected (it’s like driving a race-car wet set-up in the dry). So, quite unstable under braking, and still not really settled on the way in. Then, in the corner, you have to stay committed, as any lift-off, and the back end wants to come round. I’d describe it as ‘roll oversteer’. The damping isn’t quite right either – the front end bounces up and down instead of being better controlled, especially on rebound. (and this is on a relatively smooth track).

Seb74 has since told me it should be at full stiff front and rear on a GP circuit, but is delivered on full soft, which makes absolute sense.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t that impressed after the first few sessions (not helped by having variety of 100+kg passengers from the get-go…). It’s the first road car I’ve thought there was a chance of crashing on a track day, and was thinking ’do I need this risk/value’? It’s a strange thing, as it’s so different from a 3RS even though should be the same, just faster.

In the end, I did push reasonably hard but was still holding back to make sure it was all settled down, then power through, instead of throw-it-in and sort out later.

I also didn’t want to waste a set of tyres ‘til it’s working better. No idea on lap times, but at the end I’d guess was going a few seconds, not many, quicker than a very good driver who was out at same time in a 3RS. However, car has loads of potential.

To give you an idea of how hard I felt comfortable driving it, the max lateral g force readings were c1.4g, when I regularly get high 1.6g in the 911R! No doubt it can already go faster than that, but it just didn’t seem worth it on first track day (at 3 days old..) when I can feel there’s a lot more to be done to make it work better.

Ironically, it’s a mega road car, but for some reason, it’s delivered in UK with autobhan Vmax spec tyre pressures, so 2.8bar+ hot. That made it really nervous on the road as well – tramlining and bouncing around. Take them down to ‘performance settings’ of 2.1/2.3 and it’s a massive change, and one of the best cross-country cars you can get, (as long as a little jail time doesn’t scare you…). Same on track – very sensitive to tyre pressures, more than others. Think that’s because the chassis is not helping out as much as it should with current set-up.

After having time to think about it, it does just feel like a race car would with everything slackened off. Like I said – a “wet” set-up. I don’t know if this is how they are all delivered, but there is no way you could hurl it round the ring at the lap times it did, the way it came to me. On the flip side, it’s the first time I’ve had a road car that feels worth playing with the set-up, and given a development programme, you could make it an absolute weapon.

If it ends up being as good on track as it is on the road, it will be phenomenal, (and I feel it will). Hopefully this just means stiffening up standard roll bars etc, but we’ll see.

It’s going in to dealer this week so I can get some baselines settings, and see where bars etc are at, then am planning to take it to Manthey at Ring when I’m racing there in early August.
Right now, I’m not entirely confident of throwing it round Zandvoort, later that month, at maximum attack, but hopefully that will change!

PS – water: needed 5litre of distilled around same time as needed a tank of fuel. Not perfect, but OK. That was at 20 degrees ambient, so might need more when hotter. Car works without, it’s just that you lose 50bhp (and no-one will believe you when you use that excuse…).

Some pics..

WOW that wrap turned out amazing! Major kudos to both you and NS2 Media for putting that together. Excellent review too, I expect changing the sway bar settings to make quite a noticeable improvement for you.
