991 GT2RS

Performante and 720s are both more compelling at $295... @ $330k with weissach you get a fully loaded 720s and it's no contest... by the time you add any options to the GT2 there is simply no reason to spend that much on a 6 cyl turbo car without a carbon tub. It just doesn't make sense to me at its price... should have come In at $230-$240 MSRP max... it's AT LEAST $50k overpriced, $80k overpriced with weissach. Porsche has lost the plot.
Now the really funny part will be seeing dealers trying to charge ADM on it... $400k GT2 anyone?
What a joke.. all of it

Interesting points however I cannot see how this car could come in at $230,000-$240,000 when the 2011 GT2 RS was $245,950 MSRP before options? Now you could say that a $50,000 increase in MSRP is excessive but I was expecting at least $275,000 + for this car. The 2018 GT3 went up $14,000 over the 2016 model for reference. What is the 2011 GT2 RS trading for now in the market? $450,000+? What will a 720S trade for in 3 years time when McLaren announces a 780s? 70% or less of its value it would appear based on the way the market has been going. The Lamborghini will also be worth much less than MSRP. The GT2RS will be worth no worse than MSRP and potentially much more. A lot of folks paid close to $300,000 for a GT3RS with crazy mark ups over sticker. Porsche probably noticed this I think....
I can probably pick up a second GT2 RS, daily drive it for ~10k miles, and still not depreciate as much as a 720S with 1k miles would.

I don't want to come off as a hater here either - I love the brand and how can you not love a 700hp RWD 911? Just caught off guard a little by the pricing (and the US pricing seems disproportionately high compared to other markets)...
But for those who could have afforded $250k-$275k (not me), it probably doesn't make much difference

It's not even a GT3RS with turbos. The 3RS motor is much more sophisticated than 2RS and the new GT3 (for less than half the money) is even further sophisticated. Pretty sure this motor (that doesn't even rev to 7k) is far less expensive to produce than the 4.0 in the new GT3...
Is the GT2 RS even dry-sump? Don't think I noticed that info (just that it is based on Turbo S which is wet sump).

Hard to beat the launch of an AWD car.

I'll admit, the price is heftier than I expected. I typically view the 911 as a bargain supercar. Great value for your money.
Granted, the GT2 / GT2 RS has always pushed the limits on that.
Would've been nice to be priced more accordingly with our non-US brethren, though. Especially considering the loss of the roll cage.

To forgive my language, here is a clip of the GT2RS on track:

That may be, but I'm not going to hold that against the GT2RS. It's a road course car and it is going to smoke every street-legal factory 911 ever made in that setting...

Cleaning lady told me accountants calculated, for every gt2rs sold, 50k will be allocated to replace 991.1 gt3 motors, other 50k was towards development/cost for this particular motor not to blow up. / joke
