Yep. I think it is that distinctive 911 look with the wing that just screams SUPER CAR to everyone. People recognize that right away. I doubt this happens to cars 2 to 5 times as costly.

The 911 is just timeless. The 911 GT3 is just bonkers.

Given the reaction we get here, it would be awesome to have a Porsche meet here. Bring your cars that get little attention in your area to Denver, Evergreen and Boulder.

Come for the sunshine and awesome roads. Stay for the public reaction! It is priceless!

Thanks! It is fun for sure.

The other day I was headed up to a family friends sons last highschool basketball game. Was driving my Sapphire Blue GT3 and I see this Lava Orange GT3 about 12 cars in front, so I make my way through traffic and get right behind him.

We cruised like that on 405N during rush hour for about 10 miles. Was pretty cool and lots and lots of attention. 2 991 GT3's on the road together is a rare sight even around Bellevue/Redmond!

the general public is dumb and have no clue what cars are worth. You could pick up an 05 gallardo or F355 for 80k and pull just as much attention if not more than a new gt3.

I'm sorry, wut? I've worked in tech finance in the Valley for the last 22 years and I can count on one hand the number of RS's I've seen on the streets here. I've seen more CGTs.

I've found that my GT3 is a serious dude magnet. Fortunately, I don't roll like that.

What do you think?
I live in a 'fairly' wealthy area about 45 minutes outside of Philly.
Comcast, Vangaurd, Phizer, Merck, GSK, etc... 5th largest US city....plenty enough industry/money.
That said, it's still 'Philly'. Still many folks are pretty low key and conservative (read- not flashy) and the car culture isn't like warmer climates.
So, there are a fair amount of nice care. TONS of Beemers, Benz, Lexus. Lots of Range Rover. Growing number of Maseratis. Handfuls of Bently GT's, Jags. Fair amount of Cayennes and 911's. I can recall seeing in person, in the wild no more than 10-15 Ferraris or Lambos in my 38 years here. Few McLarens. Lots of Vettes.

I'd say the public 'excitement' here in the Providence-Boston corridor is mostly muted. There is some, undeniably, but certainly not every street corner.

What's more interesting is that the 3 gets more thumbs-up and the likes than the RS. IMO, it's because it's a more balanced-looking and much sexier car.

Here in Perth Western Australia a green Porsche is like being a rock god, photos, videos, comments, questions, thumbs up, stares, walking into lamp posts and signs are all a drive away.

Car gets photos and comments posted online on various local exotic forums and face book... comments like 'hes mad- drives it everyday even in the rain' lol

I'm not sure that the GT3/GT3RS is a super car. It's a great car - but is it a supercar? Not sure.

I think the GT3RS is just epic - I can't believe how much I can lean on the front tyres - not sure if I could do a manual gearbox justice - as things happen way quicker then my pea sized brain can process! And that's just whilst running it in! There are some roundabouts (I live in UK) - that I could couldn't never go around so quickly, whilst scabbing a perfect line and not cutting into other lanes in my old Speciale - the RS has the most amazing mechanical grip!

Can wait to try out at Spa in April when the car will be run in, paint corrected, paint protected and have the Porsche Cup decals installed on the rear wing!

Loving it so far.....!
