Allan out of curiosity what do you mean normally? What is it doing when accelerating in 1st or 2nd? Thanks!

Fully agree with you...

Didn't get the letter. So far. But if it comes, so be it.

Is this your new toy? Wow! Haven't been here much. Must have missed the announcement. I really really really like it!

While I was at the dealer two weeks ago installing my harness bar, there was a 2014 GT3 on the lift. My tech said he was waiting for a transmission. The owner was three laps into a DE at Sebring when it went. No other details.

With the engine at operating temperature and accelerating from a stop, the car is VERY slow to accelerate, then it "catches" and reves quickly. Then, shifting to second it "slams" into gear and repeats the first gear pattern. Finally, shifting to third, it will shift hard again and then accelerate normally. It will follow this pattern in manual and auto. No warning lights, normal temperatures and is fine on the track. Best, Allan

Ah I see, just wanted to make sure mine isn't doing the same thing! Just drove it for the first time yesterday and glad to hear that my experience wasn't similar to what you were describing. Good luck with finding out the problem and hopefully a solution is met quickly!

I will give you that they are not as raw as previous cars but to say they are not a better car is wrong on many levels. If the measurement of a sports car is performance, this car wins easily. Given the upgrades and changes that were made to this generation of RS, it is always a possibility to have problems arise. Remember with only 2000 cars being built, it is difficult to get a big test sample for adjustments and sometime they need to be made on the fly. Anyone owning a previous RS 997 will attest to the Pressure Plate Problems that all the early cars had in addition to the Valve Actuator problem that plagued many vehicles. I wonder sometimes why most of the negative comments come from those not fortunate enough to get an allocation. I for one am thrilled and will deal with the issues as they arise. Porsche has been pretty good so far about being fair.
Or in my case both issues at different times. Warranty honored and engine(s) replaced no questions asked. Cant beat that level of service.

This car is by far the best thing I have ever driven and is magnificent. I also drove a GT4 last Friday and this too was good but compared to the RS on the track it just felt like a good road car.

The chassis and front end is awesome, the power just right and in way shape or form am I missing my 997.2RS.

Compared to a Speciale it's more alive.

Heaven only knows what this chassis would be like with a GT2rs engine.....

Valid point, but you must understand Po Mo is small, and they have limited resources and budget. Not only that, the development and build of the 919 Hybrid had them pore pretty much all their resources and budget into that project, and guess what?! It was the exact time of development of the GT3. Most of the attention went into the V4 2.0 unit in the 919 instead of the flat six DFI that eventually found its way into a race car. That's quite a task if you ask me, and Porsche took a big risk. It paid off dearly in 2015, just one year after their return.

I always wondered who's 3.8 RS that was, and when I saw "The Joker" in its parking spot I knew.
