My '16 GT3 just arrived in MN at my dealer. It should be all the way home (TX) in a week, hopefully. The pics look good so far. It's going to be a very long week.

Describe the circumstances where you live in the great State of Texas, but end up with a dealer in MN. Just interested. I live in a reasonably small town in La, and we have a Porsche dealer here, and bought from her for years. Problem- she just can't get what I want.

Great question, Shrevehorn. I was on a mission to find a '15 used but I couldn't find the spec I wanted or if I did it was 20K over msrp which i had a problem with philosophically. It was actually through the RL network that I was turned onto a '16 allocation, at msrp, in MN. I got very lucky. This is one of the reasons this forum is so great. My experience with this dealer has been exceptional as well which is a welcome surprise. Let's just say that the Austin P-car dealer doesn't have the best reputation so buying local isn't a motivator.
Here are a few more pics. He's giving me a tease at the LWB's. No wart and the anthracite brushed aluminum. This whole car is a big ole' leap of faith. I've never driven the new GT3 (did ride in one for 5 min), never sat in the LWB's and haven't seen any of my interior choices in person (deviated stitching, red seat belts, etc).
I have to say, I haven't been this excited for a car, ever...

Congratulations! I know this dealer well. I grew up in Golden Valley, where the former "Carousel Porsche"--now your "Porsche Minneapolis" is located. While in a far newer and updated structure than the old store I recall in the late '70s/early '80s, my dad bought a two-tone 924 there with the crazy black/white psychedelic checked seats. He always wanted a Porsche, but couldn't afford a 911. Regardless, it was a pretty car.
As high schooler I remember seeing a red 911 Targa with black Fuchs wheels there, which, if memory serves, showed a sticker of about $35K. I remember being completely defeated, and saying to myself: "Thirty-five grand!? I'll NEVER be able to afford thirty-five grand for a car!!"
Guess you've discovered "Minnesota Nice"...Love Austin, though. My buddy owns some sweet restaurants there!

I grew up in the Midwest and the people are hard to beat. With that said, I got out of there as soon as I could- too cold!
Which restaurants, I'll make sure to frequent them. Looks like youve done okay since those Tatga dreaming days...;-)
