Ford pissed off a lot of hard core faithful like me. Learned a lesson. Done with false allegences.
I am on the fence on reapplying in 2018. Wouldn't get a car until 2020 and have to lay out $600k with tax and be told I can't sell for 2 years. Interior leaves me cold too.
New car car is cool but doesn't evoke GT40 like the Gen II which is the last of the analogue American supercars

^Waxer; FWIW: the 2-year deal is not enforcable.
(I agree, that this program is way behind schedule. Heck 6 months ago I saw engines in development mode and piston changes, followed with durability testing late in the game.)
My friend's GT was delivered 2-3 weeks, fully xpeled (sp?) and straight into a hole to never see the light of the day!

As far as Ford pissing off hard core faithful customers, there are only so many cars to go around. My friend who has one on the way has multiple historically significant Fords (e.g., GT40, Cobra, GT350, etc.) and is VERY close to the company. Mid 40s, no social media presence.

I think the car is a white elephant, honestly. Perhaps count yourself lucky?
As far as Ford pissing off hard core faithful customers, there are only so many cars to go around. My friend who has one on the way has multiple historically significant Fords (e.g., GT40, Cobra, GT350, etc.) and is VERY close to the company. Mid 40s, no social media presence.

FWIW: The Ford contract language on the GT is not that way. It is very very soft. I can PM it to you if you like. However, still IMHO it would still be a breach of values if I were to sell before 2-years since I signed the contract.

It's not enforceable but 2 years isn't a long time.
I never completed the sheet guessing chances were good own a lot of Fords and active locally. 2018 500k could go to a lot of other choices. Anyone saying they can flip their GT most likely can but why go thru all the brain damage to flip a car is beyond me. The Viper and Ford are painted in the same place for 1/3 the money grab a manual V10! Few years down the road a 500k 1000 unit car who knows what the Ford GT will be worth - my guess when this production comes to an end it won't be so appealing.

August R&T issue has exclusive Ford GT road car instrumented test.

Figures are quite disappointing given the grandiose claims that Ford execs made when the car was initially launched:
0-10 0.4
0-60 3.2
0-100 6.6
Qtr 11.1 @ 130.0
Appears to have a traction problem despite 325 section MPSC2 rears. They estimate a curb weight of 3,250 lbs. I had thought that the testing might have been compromised since Utah Motorsports Park is at altitude, but apparently R&T applies the same correction factors that C&D does, so that should not be the culprit.
