I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the GT4. It's a true Porsche and a fast, fun car. I thoroughly enjoyed driving it. But I wouldn't trade my GT3 for one.
mooty and the other guys are right...think this through very carefully Jimmy. It's always exciting to get a new car, and sometimes the process can dazzle you into a decision that you end up regretting later. I know....I've been there.

After spending my last Chin Track Day at Sebring a few weeks ago alternating Track sessions instructing in my Student's new GT4 and driving my own GT3, I was surprisingly disappointed by the vast difference in power between the cars.
Admittedly, on the street much of that difference would not be felt, but on the track it was far greater than I expected. With your GT3 driving experiences, you may have a similar reaction after the "newness" wears off. I would suggest you at least hold onto your GT3 until you become familiar with and accept the more modest performance of the GT4. If you have found you prefer the GT3, you can easily sell the GT4. IMHO, It is a great fun Porsche and will remain a great "bargain" for the many Non-GT3 owners long into the future.

I will be on the same line as Mooty and Mike in CA.
You will enjoy the excitement of the new toy as the GT4 is and it is surely a fun toy.
Definitely, it is not in the same league as the GT3 in term of power and exclusivity... as the # is a fun weapon!
you are a big boy and you know where your priorities are but i would seriously think more than twice before releasing a 9000 rpm engine...

Good thing is i have plenty of time to really make this decision.
I am going to look in to putting a lift in my garage. I am going to check to see how much height I need in my garage. The ultimate goal would be to have both. Since I average about 4000 miles per year now it will just be split between 2 cars. Does it make sense? - absolutely not but that is why it makes perfect sense. Stock market sucked for 2015 and 2016 could be no better. Have the cash so why not just do it. At least I can enjoy driving a slowly depreciating asset than watch my money depreciate on my computer

I'm happy to help as you go down this route. I just put two HD9's into a garage which at first blush didn't look like they'd work/fit.

Jimmy, since you're not tracking, you might consider a manual 997 GTS. The GT4 is a great road car, but you might like the 997 GTS just as much or more, since it's a 911, and feels more like a 'classic' 911 than a 991. The GTS will be plenty comfortable for the road, costs less than a GT4, and may not depreciate much at this point.

That's actually an awesome idea..I may trade in my TTS for a manual GTS. I definitely want a 7 speed in the garage, I thought the GT4 was the way to fix that but having two other cars that are PDK is probably my problem, downgrading from a Turbo to a GTS won't be that bad will it ? Lol
