Interesting. The life of the machining tools is known to the nth degree and in this case 2000 units. The retooling for 500 more units does not have a good ROI and as such production stops at 2000. If they keep reusing the old worn out tools they will run into tolerance issues causing engine blow up which we are familiar with.

Very honest! I think a lot of owners of 991rs want the production numbers to stay low. For good reason. We have been following a crazy frenzy when it comes to previous RS models. And I believe some owners and dealers have been sucked into this hype.
Looking at it from Porsches perspective it doesn't matter if they make another 500-1000 991rs. It just shows that it's a great car and people want to buy it.

And long term it will always be considered a dinosaur gas gussling hooligan. And if we still are allowed to drive these cars they will be worth a fortune.
Short term I'm afraid some will get burnt. Just the nature of a overheated market.
