997.1gt3RS is a good guidance. If I remember correctly they made about 1900?

991rs is a little more usable but demand might be held back because US market have been able to buy previous generation RS. After 996rs demand was high because human always wants what you can't have.

I think demand -1 will be around 2000 cars. Sales was worse than expected in Asia/China so allocations can be added in the US.

I just hope they make some more RHD for the UK market. Those guys never seem to get enough cars.

I'm sure I'm probably banned from getting a new one at MSRP by PCNA for all my bashing of them and their stealerships. I do have my name down at 3 non-CA/FL/NY dealers for the RS but probably put my name down too late unless they bring over 1,500 RSs.

Yup, I do like well driven/properly broken in cars. Heck if I had the money when he was selling his properly driven 4.0 I would have bought that car too. And that car would have been tracked just like I plan on tracking the .1RS. Not looking for any creme puffs here.

This is posted on the German car configurer. Doesn't bode well for more RS's past June.

Sehr geehrter Porsche Freund,

For those who don't Deutsch sprechen...

Dear Porsche friend

Your selected model is no longer available as a freely configurable cars.

We still want to give the opportunity to continue to see the model in the Car Configurator.

Have fun wishes
Your Porsche team

Sounds about right RS is coming to an end and all allocations are pretty much already spoken for

So total worldwide would be 2,000 units or less right? That's still few considering the high in demand... The '73 2.7RS were 1,580 units right?

US has more demand and a stronger currency so they are only going to make more for the U.S.

Don't think so. It's working just fine on the German website. Must have been a technical glitch or some update of the configurator.

Edit: Never mind. I see what they mean. It gives you this message and you can then go on and build a car. Doesn't do that in the UK or some other countries so not sure what it means?

Look at the 991gt3 production numbers. That will give you some more info. Porsche estimated demand to be 2000 cars and I think that will be very close.

Another question that I have is how many RSs are stealerships hoarding right now asking $100k+ over MSRP and spec'ed themselves?

Not a good situation. I know for a fact that Porsche is not happy about having new cars sitting while there are buyers in line. Nothing can be done about used cars. That's a free market! If anyone is dumb enough to pay $100k over before production is over. Be my guest.

Yup, I'm going to wait since I think we might get a recession in 2016 and want to see how the supply side plays out. If the market is still $100k over for the car by this time next year when all the cars have been sold then I'll have to re-assess till then I'll focus on having fun with what I have. The Cayman S should be done in late Jan and that'll be the first time I'll ever driven a fully build race car.

Exactly if there more demand they will make more. I am guessing the total number would be 2000-2500. Then they will make a limited edition may be 900 cars. People with rs already most likely will trade in the rs for limited edition the the trade in cars will go to the people who were left at the first place.

they thought about building more, but it is not so easy. the tools and the hole production is plant to build round about 2000 units. if there will be 2500 the tolarances are not certain. it will cost too much and also the production line is full with other cars with more profit.

I have my allocation and for financial reason I hope no more will be built and all .2 and forward are turbo. I know that is wrong...but could resist. 😉
