Powder coated and striped
Thought I'd share this with you guys.
Big props to Straightens in Lansdale PA. I heard they have an great powder coater...and I wasn't let down! Many times powder coating comes out with a texture...but when done right, it's supposed to be smooth...unless texture is intended finish of course. Anyway, VERY pleased with the work!
And Dennis McGoldrick the Pinstriper also in Lansdale PA did such a GREAT job pinstriping that I had him add his signature in the barrel. Hey...an artist should sign his work after all.
Bottom line...absolutely ecstatic about my 'new' wheels. So much that I'm having second thoughts about going aftermarket. But we'll see...

On what color car? Racing yellow? What is the orange color in the first picture?
Nice finish on the wheels. Time to OptiCoat them.

The yellow of the stripe is a little light as I tried matching it via a cell phone pic. It's supposed to be Speed Yellow. I'll be having Dennis darken them up when he can have have the wheels with the car and match directly.
I'll be applying Adam's sealant to the wheels this winter.

Hmmm... Well, you know... I'm a bit embarrassed to say... I really didn't consider it. I recall reading something about that before... But jeez... Now you have me thinking about this....

How much to have powder coat done?

Wheels look fantastic Phil !!
Only if the heat used is excessive, can powdercoat weaken the wheel.. if the heat is kept at lower temps to bake the wheel.. it will not weaken it.
Powdercoat is definitely the better option vs. liquid paint. The powder has a super strong bond, and can provide a smooth even finish, while liquid can produce uneven, or dry spots. It is ultimately up to the operator / painter though as it is a skill.
