I came from 944s as well, though I'm sure no one would have ever guessed.

My first car. Purchased for $500 bucks - from a charity sale. Thrown rod (typical). I learned how to rebuild engines, never having even performed an oil change before.

I've had a bit of experience 911's. My GT3 is my 5th new 911 since 2008. I drove a 2010 GT3 in 2011; almost bought it and regretted that I didn't.

This year I'd ordered a 991 GTS to my specs. It came in at about the same time as the GT3 I eventually got and I went into full "dither" mode. My dealership had just taken in a used 991 GT3 so they tossed me the keys and told me to drive it for a couple of days. I did, and chose the GT3. They even gave it to me below MSRP. No regrets this time!

Came from a 03 C4S coupe. Tested 996 and 997 Turbos, and 2 - 997.2 GT3s. Decided on a 997.1. GT Porche like no other modern (or aircooled) Porche, in the best way you can imagine.

I gently drove someone's personal 991 GT3, which wasn't broken in, on the road for a few miles. I found it boring. Later, I got a ride in a 991 GT3 on track. From the right seat, it didn't feel great, somewhat numb. But still holding hope, after getting input from several people (including here on RL), I took a chance and bought the car. More than 15K miles later, I'm happy with it.

Owned two previous Pcars before this one. Had a chance 4 years ago to buy a brand new 997.2 GT3RS but passed (wish I hadn't), but that's another story. This time around I wasn't passing on the opportunity, so after researching the 991 GT3, never having a chance to test ride one and didn't really care, I knew it would be great and it certainly is, better than I could've ever imagined.

had driven air cooled, water cooled (non gt3), turbos, etc. but not a gt3. bought my 2011 gt3 without ever having driven one before, same with 2015, and now same with 2016 RS

Had a 996 Cab about 15 years ago. Ordered my 991 GT3 around July last year without driving or even seeing one. I picked it up one year ago today. Love the car more and more every time I drive it.

had a 993 Cab over 10 years ago, in Dec 2013 i bought a 991S which bought me back to rennlist. the 991S was a great car but having to live through others picking up their GT3s and sharing the joy of this car i knew i had to get one. the dealership let me go out for a short test drive in car with a few miles on it and that was enough to get me to buy the new one on the showroom floor. So i blame rennlist

Had a 997.1 GT3 and a 2014 C7 corvette stingray. Sold the Corvette when I got a 991 GT3 allocation. No test drive, no regrets. Sold the 997.1GT3 after tracking the 991. Now waiting for my GT4 to arrive next May.
