Even though flawed.... I love the fact Porsche put this comparison on for the press. Who else was there? This is something Chris Harris typically does. And I would have loved to see times posted by Nick tandy (who was there) or one of the other race car professionals. That type of comparison would have been interesting.

I rememer Chris posting a picture with various Porsches: GT3 RS, RSR etc. Saying something like:"Driving these later". Cannot find the picture now.

Found this instead:

FWIW, sounds like due to schedule issues he was forced to do them out of order, and started with the RSR. Likely different results of starting from the lowest power and worked up to Cup and RSR.

Fastest time I found for a standard 996 Cup (like my old car) at Road Atlanta was a 1:28.2 (damn). Leh Keen has driven my 991 at AMP and guestimates he could do a 1:30 in it, maybe a high 1:29. Its not surprising to me the 991 GT3 is close or same as a 996 Cup. My times are very similar between the two cars and with more time I think I will be faster (although much slower than the pros). I would think a 991 Cup would be in another league and out of touch for any street car except maybe that Viper thing.

I am hoping the new RS will take 1-2 seconds from my current car keeping the pucker/risk feeling the same. if so I will be ecstatic if not heh its purple...

Lol, heh purple
It will be awesome at Road ATL.
My best laps were 1.34 on Toyo RA1 in the 4.0 (1.37 in my 964 RSA)and Leh on Mpsc2 is more than a few seconds faster than I am! Set the wing for max downforce and go for it!

Hey Peter hope to see you at a Chin or PCA event soon. Are you doing Chin over Thanksgiving, instructing maybe? Your ED thread was amazing. Thanks for sharing.

A 1:34 is damn fast! My best in the 991 is 135.2 on Trofeo R on stock alignment. TBL using traqmate is a 1:33.7 so I know i have a better time if I can ever link it all together, likely not. anyhow I am hoping the RS with added downforce will give me a bit more confidence to get that extra second.
