Indeed so: he lives in England. I see those pics and wish I had a house back in my home city again! Of course, if I did, I wouldn't be able to afford a car.

Is this a play with words when you said you grew up in London and meant England rather than London, Ontario?

No wordplay. I went from London to London. I was born and had a childhood in London England. Adolescence and young adulthood were in London Ontario. My parents were part of the 70s brain-drain to the great Dominion in the north. My 20s were split mostly between UK and GTA as a grad student. Then I moved to NY. I will soon have lived longest here, which seems least like home but is a wonderful "exile" indeed! We usually spend part of each summer in Ontario. I'd love to move back to UK but it may never be comfortably affordable. Our daughter has three passports and seems equally at home in all three countries, which is a blessing.

Sadly the big boys cars only come in LHD so you just have to get used to it. The 918 is only a lefty, like any super special ferrari or even the p1. The 599 GTO was possible to get rhd but because they only made about 25 of them they go for anything up to £300k more apparently!

When I'm home in Italy, sports cars always look "better" somehow. Then I see this and I get why.. Sports cars look very good when juxtaposed against old buildings and complex urban scenery.. Somehow a massive mall parking lot for cars and coffee just doesn't have the same effect.. Even if the American car collections are often bigger

I had a great photographer G F Williams take the shots. He really is one of if not the best out there for auto pics. The colour of my Speciale is fiorano, thanks for the compliment.

Give some credit to the light in the UK as well. It is ineffable. Even Italian, French, and Cali light don't play so friendly as UK light....when the light deigns to come out over Britain, of course!

Obviously, the photographer's control of light and subject are due great credit too.

He is superb. The very best I ever knew, though, was and is Jesse Alexander. I wish I had stayed in touch with him. One of the highlights of the festive season was always his Christmas card. He is the master of light and composition, the style to which I aspire and fall far short.

Woppum - I really enjoyed seeing your supercars with Westminster in the background. Lived in London many years - Congrats on your collection.
