Ceiling height in garage goes from 12'6" to 16'. QUESTION: Need lighting ideas please? Please post pictures or recommend ideas for lighting...
One part of shop will be "working" shop with lifts/tools/etc. and I will want to lighten it up. But 70% will be just storage of nice / finished car and I can go with soft lighting.
TIA
If you really want to do it right, first time considering hiring a local Lighting Designer to do the layout for your Contractor.
Looking forward seeing your progress!

^thanks Nurburger...yes, fully finished ceiling. We have lots and lots of experts on the team but lighting pro is more for housing and not shop. I will look up Cooper lighting. (I am trying to avoid a straight up cool/white LED lighting. So the latest design will allow for “shop” lights and more decorative soft lights). I will post photos after thanksgiving when I’m back.

Building a new house and enjoying the ideas from this thread, even though my budget is a good bit more modest. Any suggestions on a lift for storage that is fairly efficient with size/height and not hugely expensive? Is there anything with some drip protection provided or available as my first choice would be to put my '73 MGB on the lift and I don't really want it dripping on my 991. Thanks.

So many amazing garages in this thread! We downsized from a single family home with a 4 car garage to a mid-rise condo this past year. My biggest issue was giving up space to work on my car, but we managed to find a condo in Atlanta that has dedicated garages. I tried to make the best of the configuration thanks to all I've learned on Rennlist. Here is the final result of my 3 car condo garage project. Limited ceiling height prevented me from doing a lift and we don't have AC installed yet so I need lots of fans going when it gets hot. But short of renting a garage off-site, it is about as good as it gets for a condo.
Love the garage space. Looks awesome. Since you like to work on your cars and don't have the ceiling height for a lift have you considered a set of Quickjacks? https://www.quickjack.com These things are awesome at getting the car off the ground without a ceiling and they are easy to store on the wall or under a work bench. Plus the way they go under the car it makes it so you have access to the wheels or middle of the car.
Don't forget to email me about the Ipe tiles when you get a second. seth at thomaslumberco dot com
