I say they Tesla are rare here.

It is the same 2015 GT3 as in the first video.
Heard it started to burn because oil leak. Not sure if true or not..

Öhlins is some suspension maintanance on my GT3 so this TF evening I used the "GT3 Hunter" - The 2009 Cayman S.

Did some 8.30's then finally a 8.17 with passenger.

It was supposed be a gently but fast lap for my Canadian acquaintance.

But he was lucky: A 991 GT3 started to chase us.

A nice 996 GT is found and followed. Busy lap. Fun.

miss my E9 3.0CS
should have kept it for my desired project.

Karmann chassis is super weak.
need minimum a full cage. (connecting the struts)
subframes, wishbones, etc. all good for nothing (in the year 2018)
a KW V3 would be available for plug and play - but with all the work an E9 needs - a dedicated damper setup is the easiest/cheapest thing
but 400+hp in an E9? some guys through S62 E93 M5 engines in... i would do it with S65 E92 M3.

i search since two years a guy who will built me a track E9 with the goodies mentioned above. below 100.000€ for everything would be the target.
best looking coupe ever imo.

Yesterday I realized that the Caymans stock brakes are maybe not up to the task.

I chose the easy way today and went to Manthey to get new brake fluid - Endless and a set of Pagid RS29's.

I changed to the new pads and did touristdriving this evening.

I was a bit disappointed before going on track but after the first lap the pads started to behave properly.

Braking is now much better. Really good actually. The only thing is that the brake pedal still is a bit mushy but that is a Cayman 987 problem.

My driving this evening was a bit uninspired.

The most fun lap was following Dale in the gigantinormous Ringtaxi-Jaguar. It was a really entertaining lap including nice powerslides. Of course Harrys Laptimer didn't record it.

There was also a car that leaked coolant infront of me. I helped him understand that he needed to stop and pullover so not more slippery stuff was put onto the track.

Here's a short video of it. For me it all starts when the car behaves "strange" and I get suspicious. This happens at 1:04

To really show how coolant looks like I've got pictures to compare with from the next lap. It is just 9-10 minutes later and now the coolant can't be seen anymore so we now can compare and see the difference.

I think some people address this by using a larger master cylinder (I think from a 997 GT3 or PCCB-equipped Cayman).

I think so too. A rather cheap modification.

Good job!!
Sad, he seemed to know and kept on the racing surface!!

Thanks for the photo's, Dan met you there 3 years ago next week for my firs laps, crazy how fast time goes.
It will be a little longer before I can retire in the summers and spend my time at the Ring :-(
Miss it a lot.

Miss it a lot.
I met a US gentleman yesterday in Pistenclause. He had just finished the Scuderia S7. Tired but very happy.
I still smile when think of the examination regularity laps we where supposed to do, but instead raced each others to the end.

Shark noses

More Shark noses, you can clearly see the relationship.

Mmmmmmmm...****!

I wish

My Road and Track freshly serviced. Going to be fun to see if there is any difference. These are from the 997 GT3. They've been on the car since 2013. No big issues like gas and oil being mixed up.

Dan, apologies if discussed already, but what data logger do you use? Looks good.

I have an RN Lite which I find very disappointing. Device with attached camera is unstable and features very limited (e.g. does not show any overlay data on uploaded videos).

I use iPhone 6 with Harry's LapTimer.

Not super stable: always misses my best laps
