Default 911R Options

I think AP got this right. The Alcantera wheel wears out. Leather lasts forever and the R is a forever car no matter what internet chatter is floating around. I wish I could get a leather wheel on incoming Mustang R.

I had my mirror lowers painted body color. But it set my production back 4-6 weeks. Congratulations. The car is a masterpiece.

Yes, Alcantara wheel for me.
Might not last forever, but feels good while it lasts - never a bad policy!

Also Alcantara seatbelt feeder housing and sun visors.

A friend of mine asked me "what is this Alcantara ****" I'm like its artificial suede that costs more than suede.

Anyone know which pieces are alcantara on the R? is the roof black alcantara? door panels?

The roof. A, B and C pillars are definitely Alcantara, (UK spec, but I assume worldwide).
I don't think the door cards are.

This article pretty much sums up alcantara perfectly.

Default Personal Design

Had a great conversation with Yana in Porsche Personal Design. Lots of interesting things are possible. The custom tailoring (CXX) options are neat but don't come cheap.

Alcantara steering wheel is $4800 USD but for that you get to specify stitching and can get a 12 o'clock stripe.

Turns out you can custom order stripe colors for the R. Interestingly, just recently, the option of two-tone stripes just came up. It's almost 5K for the two tone.

Brand management: NO ONE can have everything that's made available to someone else, no matter how much they are willing to pay.

Interesting. Before my car got locked, the two tone exterior stripes as I was informed is not available and Porsche Exclusive said that those may have been an "after market" add on. Hmmmm.......

Does anyone here who has a 911R coming successful in having this two-tone exterior stripping as a CXX option?

Drive safe,

There will only be ten R's with OEM two-tone stripes and only three with three-tone(!) stripes. The former will command $1m, and the latter $2m in the open market. The rest of the R owners will be left cowering in disgust.
