I think it depends on the dealer you deal with. Many dealers probably don't give a crap about a relationship but I gotta think that there are dealers who value a long term relationship versus trying to make a quick buck. I guess I'll find out if there are dealers who want to build a relationship as I'll be trading in car as I continue to buy a car (i.e. trade in my GT3 for the .2 GT3, trade in my GT4 for the GT4RS or .2 GT4, etc).

Yeah. Couple of the sales guys I talked to ran it by the GM. But the GM wouldn't lower the premium.

BigDogTex - In December of 2014, I decided very late to jump in and get a GT3. I was told there were none left, but after about two weeks of calling I had lined up 7 cars at dealers around the country in the two colors I was after, but all with different build lists. Despite their apparent rarity, all were being offered at MSRP. I ended up getting almost every build item I wanted, and shipped my car from the dealer direct to my house. Dealer threw in some swag, and it made a great Christmas present!

All I am saying is that IMHO there is NO need to pay more than MSRP, unless you specifically want to order it and then a sucky dealer pretty much has you. Personally I would not buy anything from a dealer who wants to rape me 20K over MSRP, Just sayin!

I took delivery of 2015 for $4210 under MRSP. Many of us who had 2014 orders that got pushed to 2015's got "price protection" so I got the precision app for $400 instead of $1850. Full leather was about $160 less on the 2014's. Also, I got the 18 way seats ( $2650) for free because they were advertised as having a memory function that they did not have. So, $2650 + $1850 + $160 = $4210 overall savings from MSRP. I was still able to get the full 2015 MSRP when I sold it to a dealer because the window sticker reflected the 2015 pricing.

Yes, we early adapters got the best pricing to date, granted with significant wait time. Porsche stepped up quite a bit. I'm very happy where mine landed, especially considering all the other added bonuses like the trip to Atlanta! In the end though, I'll keep this car very long, so none of it really matters in the big picture.

We currently have a black 2016 that is being cosigned for a customer at $15k over, so it sounds like their $25k over is an opening bid. I'll leave my personal feelings out of it, but fair market value on these seems to be in the $10k to $20k range depending on how desirable the color and equipment is.

I'm curious how someone can afford a Porsche who paints walls for a living.

I too was offered a '16 allocation for 30k over msrp, declined in an instant as i didn't have the funds to go over MSRP (was on a very tight budget), was able to get an allocation at MSRP two weeks later (although that may be pure luck)

Talented, resourceful and successful ones can easily afford it. I know several.
