Default I got a GT3 allocation!!

Hello

This is my first post on this site. I am also on 6speedonline as well as m3forum and mbworld all as the same screen name.

So after I took delivery of my 2015 991 c2 base car in May 2015, its has no real options except the PDK, sports design bumper and duck tail, and the sport techno rims I fell in love with 911's. I did 2 driving events and now I wanted a GT3 BAD.

I just got a allocation for a 2016 GT3 delivery late Nov. SA told me I can still make changes to the build so I'm gonna customize it to my specs. Just wanted to know what people thought where must have options for resale as well as enjoyment.

So far what I want:

Gaurds red or Lava Orange leaning towards orange
LWB- this is a must for me
leather trim with red stitching
axle lift
LED
Sports Chrono

Cant wait for the car, sucks I'm gonna get it in the winter

Congrats! Personally, I would go with Guards Red, especially if you are getting red stitching.

Well first off congrats. Now that lava is offered, do they offer lava stitching ? If not, I would get the carbon fiber interior bits and do silver stitching as it plays off the light parts of the cf weave...just my opinion.

Guards Red for sure. Leather steering wheel and extended fuel n addition to your choices. I really like CF and put everyone of those upgrades on my car- love it

Firstly congrats and welcome.
Of the items on your list I think the axle lift is the most important item. This car is seriously low!! And I'd do a search or two on the sports chrono - you'll spend a lot of money getting a (very nice imho) clock and not a lot else. General feeling is the track app is garbage. If you spec the chrono pack to use at the track I'd go after market.
Of the items you haven't spec'd I think the PCM is a must and in the bling dept I love my aluminum pedals and Porsche crest on the arm rest. Oh and the smokers pack tidies up the console nicely. Most people also spec extra capacity fuel tank as well. Both of these are no cost options.

Congrats, but make sure you have seen lava orange in person before you order it.

Kidding! Get the Lava. Better for resale because they only offered 991.1 GT3's in this color for 2016. Much more rare than the red.

Lava was a huge disappointment for me... . Highly recommend you see it in person before ordering.

Congrats. I would add PCM/sound package plus, smoker's package, extended range fuel tank, floor mats. I got the brushed aluminum anthracite trim and really like it, but carbon fiber trim looks great too. I personally like guards red better than lava, but if you go lava, definitely get the platinum stitching (not red).

Get the BLACK version of either headlights. Gives the car a more aggressive look in any color.

Carbon interior trim is tasty. Suits the car nicely.

The black brushed aluminum trim looks like black plastic from one foot away. Not very attractive. If wanting aluminum trim, just do the standard silver finish.

Leather steering wheel instead of Alcantara.

My opinions of course!

- Lava Orange only because it's a PTS-look on a GT3.
- LWB for sure.
- Silver stitching with Lava Orange (don't do red stitching on Orange paint!)
- Black LEDs!

Pretty personal choices, I'm not a fan of LO, GR would be my choice of the two and probably my 3rd favorite color available behind RY and DB.

Rest look good. I would keep the alcanatra wheel - I really don't like it in sports cars. If you have sweaty hands, leather is easier to clean but much more likely to get slippery.
