So either these 'naked' 991 gt3 RS are strictly for domestic Germany delivery (which will not need the cover) or perhaps some are waiting for their
'Sonderwünsch' options & will eventually get the 'car cover' after that work is done.

By the way, we just arrived at the Romantik Hotel Zur Schwane in Volkach. Technically, this is part of Bavaria. But the locals called this area Franconia
and feel a bit different from other Bavarians. And it's the home of some of my favorite wine - Franken. This medieval town is on the Main river.

I have been coming to this town since 1981...that is over 34 years! It's a fairly new town for Europe...it was founded in 906 AD. I'll have more to say
about this interesting area in future posts. In fact, the photos above are the ones I took two years ago. Today is too damn hot to take photos...and
the cobblestone street right in front of the hotel is all torn up under repair! So my old photos look much better!

Saludos,
Eduardo
Volkach, Franconia

I knew there was something weird about this last photo. Why are there no leaves on the tree's in the middle of summer?

Eduardo, thanks for the report. It's bringing back all the wonderful memories of my ED in the fall of 2013. Looks like this car is parked in the parking lot you park in after taking delivery. It's also used to park the car when dropping your car off on ED for it's return trip home.

Yes, that´s the parking lot in front of the delivery entrance. See the plate-holder´s writing: "Porsche Werksabholung Zuffenhausen" = Factory Pickup.

@ Eduardo - you are right now just 90 Km from my hometown - enjoy the Wine-Fest at Volkach ;-)

Do you plan to stop at Porsche Classic at Freiberg am Neckar on your way back?

Greetings from Nuernberg

Germans are weird: Building churches on the side?

Well, next week I'm going to Italy: Looking forward to the italian Almost-on-the-side-Tower.
It is supposed to be in Pisa, I believe.

Ah, ****. Removed it.
Rennlist changed something, looks straight on my I phone and sideways gigantic on PC, apparently it doesn't auto resize anymore with mobile uploads.

This forum was designed and updated when they built that cathedral...

It seems to me that white foil wrap is on every Porsche vehicle that leaves production, whether going by truck or rail to Europe or by ship overseas. But I only saw additional loose wrapping (like a modern synthetic material car cover) on 991 gt3 RS's that seemed to be going by boat to their respective foreign markets.
I know this is a crappy photo, but along the back fence I saw many cars with what looked like hard plastic pieces for protection. Are these cars still in production? They were parked alongside cars with the foil you mention.

There were RS's everywhere!

I hope the magic bamboo will be a launch color for some special 911. 911R perhaps?

Thank you Eduardo. Informative and entertaining.

Default Clear Protective covers...

Yes, these cars are not considered yet finished. So they are keeping their clear plastic 'armor' to protect the paint when it goes back into the
assembly line after repairs or whatever was needed. See my crappy photo of a similar 991 gt3 RS coming from assembly line on Friday July 17th
and driving to the back parking lot with its protective clear armor gear in place!

****

Here is a better image of what that clear protective armor looks like for our readers:

****

Also, that is not what they used when a small % of the finished cars go on their brief test drive on public streets & autobahns.
These go with their shipping foil wraps (or even car covers)...but not with the clear plastic 'armor' coats! And these test drives
always have 'special plates' attached to the cars & clearly visible both front and back!

Kudos. As usual, the best!
Any info on the rumored 2017 NA 475HP GT 911, manual only?
Or just imaginary? I hope not.

All Caymans including GT4s are built at Osnabrück.
