Jerod from theOpenTrack here... A few clients shot me a txt to touch base on this thread. We just wrapped up a claim yesterday and that member said he would be willing to talk to anyone about his claims experience. My cell is 843-801-2788, anyone can feel free to call me and I will pass along his info. In addition, I handle all of our claims so feel free to ask me directly if you have specific questions.

Thank you Jerod. I have not had a claim, but can only say good things about my experience with Open Track and Ben. It's a pleasure doing business with you and the team.

Default They came through

I switched from Lockton this year, and unfortunately had an incident at Palmer and had to file a claim. OpenTrack came through as promised, paying the full value minus the 5% deductible.

If you do a lot of track days and your car is worth >75k, I'd highly recommend them.

Good to hear... I've been considering a policy with them through our Smokies group. Once I bite the bullet on the track membership, I'll be making that call!

Great to hear. Been a customer for two years now. Best value in the industry.

I use HWI Motorsports and couldn't be happier. Highly recommend them for your racing and track insurance. Some others out there are less than ideal.

I believe you can get a quote on their website. I'm paying somewhere around $6500 for my RS - unlimited events for a year.

Here's a plus with open track
Unlimited track days (non competitive of course)
Same policy covers all the cars I track: gt4, rs, 964 for same premium
Covers instructors driving your car
Covers any track
Covers private event days and member tracks (where they started)
And if you do than say more than 10 days a year it's by far the best value

I'll be renewing mine again.

Thanks for the feedback, I did use the calculator and I thought it was wrong at $6k per year! I guess that's how much it cost but for someone looking to do a couple events that's cost prohibitive.

My suggestion is to reach out to them and see if there are other options. I agree that the annual policy is not good for people just doing a couple events.

He has responded through email once. One big concern, last I checked, Open track has nearly every track in the country listed on the very limited website, and AMP is listed but track management has never heard of them. My gut says stay away until they have actually been in business and paid a claim. Lockton is a proven and trusted company that has been in the track day insurance for a long time with good history on claims. As stated before Insurance is only as good as the company behind it. Little to fresh off the boat for my liking, even thought unlimited usage and $ limits is appealing I rather know my insurance can and will pay God forbid an incident. just my $.02
We have switched to Open Track and have been very happy. So for an update. See y'all track side.
