My service guy at Porsche is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to take care of me...i dropped off the car and he agreed that my cracks did NOT look like impact cracks b/c its on both headlamp perimeters and it's slowly crawling up the edges (but not linked together)....my car was an OCT 2014 delivery...so maybe we will start to see more of this issue popping up from other '15 owners by the end of the year...and just maybe it becomes a warranty item......my engine issue concerns me more

Any correlation between headlight type (bi-xenon vs LED) and cracks? I guess if it's a manufacturing issue with the lens it should be irrelevant but might be a cause if temperature related?

re-set -- stopped engine and started engine?

I had this happen to me at the track, was driving around and the red graphic came up (didnt read it at the time), pulled off to the pits. parked, started car, all good. went right back out and haven't seen it since.

Had I known it was going to disappear and not return i'd have snapped a photo, I got a pretty good gopro video of me getting all pissed off at the car though.

Carfanatica, do you my chance have the black headlights? Mine are black. I've looked at a bunch of other GT3 headlights and haven't seen the same problem, but I haven't seen any other black ones locally.

My lights are LED, NOT black and do not have any clear protective film.

I'll post again when I hear back from dealer on both the cracking issue and my red engine light failure which caused my car to go into limp mode.

I also recently installed the AP Slotted front rotors, PFC 11 pads, and adjusted the front sway bar one notch softer (factory is middle position)....and FINALLY got my rear cup 2s today..if ya'll track ur cars order tires now..back-log across the country.

Good point. Mine is nov 2013 production non led. None of the local owners here have this problem but none of us bothered with LED. Wondering if the heat from the bi xenon makes the lens material more resilient to debris or temp duffs around the edges. Do we have non led cars with same issue?

I have black pdls and zero cracks. Mine is a September 2014 delivery. On another note, both of my rear tail lights have slight delamination on the edges. Dealer ordered me new ones under warranty.

LEDs on a 11/2014 build - I clean the car myself using an ammonia free window cleaner, I assumed given the delam issue it was better to play it safe and go this direction.

Mech 33 - could you post a pic of your cracks you R receiving after just 3 months...I assume outer rim like mine and others? My car is still at dealer as they r working on a piston misfire problem, but I'm going to try to make the case that our headlight cracking is defect/warranty territory when I pick it up..any other pics of perimeter cracks (from you & others) would be helpful. Thx!!

Oh I can do better than that. Here is a video walkthrough of my headlight cracking with up-close footage for everyone to compare to:

Clearly a design flaw! Keep pushing curious to see the outcome. There's no surface damage its all enternal within the casing.

Great video. My lights were exactly like those. I just had both replaced without question from my local dealer. They didn't say exactly what was going on but stated this happens from time to time.

They also checked computer,my car is November build ecu - there are no new ecu updates since November on the car according to tech.

Lastly they approved xpel for use on the lense surface both where I purchased in manhatten and at my dealer in Tennessee

take them to dealer and demand new ones.
