Reference Guide to PTS

Sadly, Calgary is in a world of hurt given the Oil situation. You might be able to find some abandoned orders coming up or future allocations...

I was there on business a week ago and went to the dealership to kill time. Calgary is looking pretty bleak these days. They have new cars discounted $10-12k and were still willing to negotiate. As soon as the sales guy found out I was from out of town, he started pushing harder to sell!

thank you eduardo and lessthan3mph!
i quickly thought about Maritime on the factory picture.
but dark/strong blue in the direct sun .... mhh.
this color is absolute outstanding based on the spectrum it
provides in different shades! just wow!! i can't name a second
paint which does the same this extreme.
can somebody help me with more details about maritime?
for example when it was firstly painted? 1992 on the 964RS?
how many layers?
any other infos?

It's a solid/uni color. Currently the final layer is a 'clear coat'.

'Maritim Blau' is color code 38B. In my opinion, it's one of the
most impressive colors offered by Porsche via PTS!

I believe that Porsche introduced 'Maritime Blue' on the Model Year 1991.

Thank you for your post. But I think I'll stick with what I posted as
the starting date for 'Maritim Blau'. I believe that 'Maritime Blue'
was first introduced by Porsche in MY1991.

'Maritime Blue' was continued to be offered in MY1992 and MY1993.
I believe it was replaced in MY1994 by 'Riviera Blue' in the standard
line up.

Decals
I got a call a few days ago from my dealer who said porsche just opened up decals on the PTS RS. The decals are the same as the 997.2 RS (racing flag and GT3RS) I spec'd black decals on my Mexico Blue with black satin wheels.

'Sport Classic Grey' as PTS on a 981 Spyder...
From the 981 forum...but a curious development that should be reported
here!

***
Donavan: Let me first say that I am very happy for you. So by
reading in between the lines, you are telling us that your PTS 981
Spyder will also be 'Sport Classic Grey', color code 63A! Congratulations!
****
For those that might not keep up with the 'bizarro' world of Porsche
'exclusive' colors, 'Sport Classic Grey' was introduced for the Limited
Edition '911 Sport Classic' that PAG brought out in ROW back in MY2010.
http://press.porsche.com/news/release.php?id=499
And that exact color was never allowed to be duplicated via PTS...
until a lucky VIP 918 Spyder owner got the approval in 2015.
And now, Gerald & Donovan are telling us that this color has been done
for some 981 Spyder clients...even thought 'Sport Classic Grey' does not
appear yet on the approved PTS list last revised by PAG on Nov 17th, 2015!
****
Personally, I think we should know how some folks were tipped-off
that 'Sport Classic Grey', color code 63A, was possible to do when
that information was not available to 99% of the Porsche customers.
And don't give me 'Melissa is my friend' line, because EVERY Porsche
customer, in theory, is Melissa's 'friend' too & she can't afford to play
'favorites' in her capacity as a representative of 'Porsche Exclusive' in
the US. I am having a hard time understanding how keeping the
information that 'Sport Classic Grey' was available but not allowed to
be widely known is justified since it puts the majority of Porsche's PTS
customers at an unfair disadvantage not knowing that such a color was
also available to them.

Can you please tell us who told you the color on this 981 Spyder was
'Sport Classic Grey'. As you know that color is not on the approved
PTS list for the 991/981 but was allowed to be done on a VIP's 918
Spyder in 2015. We just need to clarify these matters so that we
know where the information is coming from & we have confirmation
that its accurate in reporting it to our forum. Thanks.

Jamie, did you not order Riviera blue on your RS or did you now change to Yellow Green? Or I guess you may have also ordered a GT4.
