I passed on a June Production with an August Delivery on a Lava Orange which was the first one in Australia for a PTS.

Still waiting on PTS confirmation.

Did you hear more on the PTS front? Availability came out yesterday in the US.

In terms of greens:
Is viper green a lighter or more yellow shade of signal?

Is signal green the same as RS green from 2007/2008?

Easy question: Green 2D8 is the RS Green from 2007/2008 - its approved on the PTS list.

Subjective question: Viper Green is a little darker and less yellow to my eyes, Signal a little lighter. Most people seem to prefer Signal at the moment? But I prefer Viper myself.

I'm still with white unless I change to a PTS blue of some sort.

Normally I only buy black but to me black will lose a lot of the cool stuff this car has on it.

White is cup car'ish...and I can add a little livery vinyl...in NJ a wild car like this with a wild color will just attract too much attention IMHO

Absurd colors to me are for lambos..

In my own visual experiences, 'Viper' is slightly darker but has more yellow tint than 'RS Green'. Both do not have as much yellow as W25 'Signal Green', but that is irrelevant at the moment since the only 'Signal Green' approved for PTS is color code 22S, which has more blue tint than 'Viper'!

See for yourself. Photos of colors are generally untrustworthy due to variations in lenses, lighting, etc. But when colors are photographed side-by-side, you see the differences and/or similarities, to each other in proper context:

I will shortly start a new thread in this gt3 forum on just the nuances of the current PTS colors which might be helpful to others as they decide on their PTS selection for the 991 gt3 RS! I am getting a number of PM's & emails on the subject, so I might as well broaden the discussion to a larger audience & get other perspectives too!

Eduardo

Eduardo
I think I like signal green 217 the best of those, but that color is not approved? There are three signal greens: 217, W25, and 22S? Any photos of 22S?

Difficult to say if 'Signal Green' color code 217 is close or exactly like the only currently approved 'Signal Green', which is color code 22S. The former is the official color code given at the time 'Signal Green' became a 'special color' offering in 1970.

But Porsche revived 'Signal Green' again in the early 1990's and offered that color under the new code '22S'.

That is the version currently approved for PTS. In the 997 era, someone got 'Signal Green' color code W25 approved. We don't know why the paint formula was changed...but 'Signal Green' W25 has a lot more yellow tint than either '217' or '22S'.

The reason I know that for certain is that I owned a 2007 PTS 'Signal Green' in W25:

And I still have its original factory-painted rear spoiler at my home in Carmel:

As to whether photos of 'Signal Green' 22S are available...yes! And by luck, I happen to own one of those too! And I'll be comparing my W25 rear deck lid to the new color pretty soon & report back!

Lava, hands down. If you go UV, go Black on the wheels and wing.

Sorry, just not feeling the UV, especially in the sun.

Australia always gets the message later.

So hopefully next week we can sit down and proceed.

BTW - I am still confused on the green. My preference would have been Lambo Verde Ithica or even Mantis.

However since they are not allowing this, I prefer the 2008 Viper Green from the 997.1 RS.
