If the dealer is in a cold location, maybe the 918 owners in question just need to be able to keep their "hot chicks" butts warm? (no seat heaters in the buckets)

I can't afford hot chicks *and* a 918... So I got the buckets in the RS too.

Default Sport Buckets VS. 18 Way

I had a 14' GT3 with 18 ways, now have a 15' with the buckets and honestly, the buckets kind of suck. No lower back or hip support, hard to get in and out of, and overall, they are just too big. My gen2 997 buckets were way better and also reclined. My carrera GT seats, again, way better. Maybe because I am 6'0 and 165 lbs, but seriously, here we go with another German auto builder catering to the plus sized buyers, pisses me off to no end.

Go sit in a current set of m5 or m4 seats, all much bigger than the models they replaced, I swim around in them, they suck.

I also have a buddy, 5'9, more stalky than I, and he also hates i sport buckets, says they are just slabs, he is right.

Oh well, I will just keep on powering on more schnitzel and beers.

Yes, I was chatting with a 918 owner who complained that his 918 was annoying to get in and out of due to the LWBs compared with ....

his LaFerrari.

Buckets are cool for a track car. For a daily, they're a pia.

the LWB were not even the an option here, I got the buckets that I think are the same as the Gen2. Kind of wish I had the new ones though. Havent tried neither though.

So you drive your car for 6 hours a day and get in/out 25 times? Or do you drive from point a to point b, getting in/ out 4 times.
"daily" is a broad term...

If your one-way daily commute takes 3 hours...you are doing life wrong

Imo daily use is possible with lwb. I drove to Seattle from Vancouver and back last night for dinner with friends then drove downtown today for brunch with my wife and now taking ferry across to our place on Vancouver island. I use it to drive to work, often stopping to pick up groceries on the way home. So at least in out approx 10 times a day or more. Plus we did a road trip from Vancouver to LA and back week before last 3000 miles and many stops). We found the seats comfortable even for 10 hrs of driving in a day. I even fell asleep while my wife drove, they're good enough for that! But that's just how they fit us. Getting in and out is easy enough if you put a hand on the door sill. My wife has figured out how to enter and exit without this but she's more limber than me (I'm not too flexible). Just my experience fwiw. But you'll want to see if they suit you or not.

Once upon a time, I daily drove a 997.1 GT2 with GT2 LWB's for ~10k miles... And it was awesome. My back was fine, my legs, fine. Getting in and out was only slightly more annoying.
