991 GT3 market= VERY STRONG
despite the numerous posts about:
"GT3 market is soft"
"too many on market"
"complaints about this and that"
"GT3 market is a bubble"
lets just say in short i know of 3 vehicles sold this past week for VERY strong numbers and with the RS allocations now cut down even more.... I only expect them to stay as strong for the next 4 years till the .2 .... ALSO... those who talk about "all the cars for sale"... I implore you to actually call and check availability as most are "bait and switch" listings..ESPECIALLY ALL THE "NEW" LISTINGS.
to the Rennlisters thinking about buying a 991 GT3 (DONT HESITATE IF YOU FIND THE SETUP YOU LIKE/WANT!!!!)
to the Rennlisters thinking about selling their cars (No Need to Rush... Keep it another 2-3 years and you'll be more than safe)
No Bubble here guys.... Just a great damn collectors/Enthusiasts Car... and look at the 997.1 and 997.2 GT3/ GT3RS market....... another laugh in the face of the "that will never last" naysayers... (who are 95% of the time non owners)
now onto the GT3RS!..... still waiting for confirmation on orange microfiber interior with White Exterior!

I must've missed the boatload of threads suggesting the GT3 market is soft. In fact, I think you'd have to be pretty much out to lunch to think that.

Doesn't history suggest that it will only be a year or two? The 996 GT3 had a two year respite between revisions, it was about the same for the 997, no?
Fwiw, I have a deposit down on a 991.2 GT3 and the sales order is written as a 2016 model year. That probably means nothing, but I was thinking it would be no later than a 2017 model year car.
I also think there is a chance they don't make a 991.2 GT3 at all, but with the hot market and people buying cars (I agree with RSRRacer, this is a bubble), I think Porsche would be foolish not to crank one out.

Agree.
It seems around every ten years or so we have an event.
Crash of 87, Russian debt crisis and tech bubble late 90s, credit crisis of 08.
Not sure when the next one major correction is. But feels like it happens within 5 years.

OP - congrats on your GT3 sale! 25K over what you paid? Used GT3 sales record? I must give credit to where it's due. I underestimated the market myself. I stand corrected.
You did very very very well. If that's an indication of the market, many owners should be happy.
The value of anything, as well as cars, are only as good as their last comparable sale and the next sale. It's always fluid, and with cars, values tend downwards more than upwards on average.
If Porsche is good at one thing, it's figuring out a way to sell you a car tomorrow versus worrying about one that's already out the door.
They have the sales game figured out better than anybody.

Just like some of you bought the GT3 until you got the confirmation that you'd be getting an RS....I bought a USED GT3 to hold me over until one of you guys sells me a USED RS which means no sales tax on both.
