Validity of Sports Chrono pkg?

For $400, I think it was worth it. It is so much more integrated into the design than past versions where it looked like some cheap aftermarket gauge glued to the dash.

I wanted a clean look, I don't have it, didn't want it, never miss it.
IMO, resale not affected at all. No one buys a 991 GT3 whether it has sc or not. Mechanically it adds nothing to the car.

Thanks all. I like the look of it and thinks it adds a bit to the cockpit but I also realize it's far from an integral part of a GT3. It was more informational for me than anything….

Shouldn't affect resale. Although I would prefer one without the ugly clock. It's much better integrated in the new Cayman. On the 911, even the 991, it looks like an afterthought.
The only useful function is to alleviate boredom on long trips as you try to stop the clock at 9.11 or 9.91 or some such thing.

I only got it for the Track Precision App... what a mistake that was.

Same with me. I deleted it on my .2 997RS and did not miss, nor was it an issue when I sold. I had it on my Panny Turbo and never used it once over 4yrs. and it was never mentioned as a buying point from interested buyers when I sold it. When I was looking for a new 991 Gt3, it was not something I preferred on the car but would not prevent me from buying a car with it.

i didnt order sport chrono because i've always found "sport plus" to be a BEYOND useless function....
also with the GT3 it has a launch option without the sport chrono... so why the hell does everyone "demand" it..
i had sport chrono on a 997.1 Turbo (nice because overboost)
i had sport chrono on a 2014 GT3 (useless)
i had sport chrono on my Macan S (useless)
i had sport chrono on 958 Cayenne (useless)
i had sport chrono on 997.1 Cab (useless)
fool me 5x because "must have"... but now i know better.
the sport chrono meant the car never shifted.. always in wrong gear.. and launch control is not even impressive... you can launch the car with ease without such function...
that being said, i'll never order sport chrono again.. i actually like the clock that still comes in the cayenne/macan however.. just dont need it to "time" my trips to grocery store..

Thanks again gent's! It's looking more like no "sports chrono". Thanks for the education...
