Enhanced RS aero treatment definitely will not be added to GT3, a 4.0l was supposed to make it to regular GT3 at some point and that was supposed to be sooner rather than later but due to delay of RS launch that might be postponed or scrapped altogether. In its current config there's not much left to wring out of 3.8 and I'm not sure a courtesy bump of 10-15hp in sticking with current 3.8 will do much to performance (marketing mostly).

Seriously, the no backup camera situation is driving me nuts! I can't think of a dumber thing to have not offered on the car or at least as a pre-wired accessory dealer installed with the wing in the way
why not just add an aftermarket camera?

Never been big on someone wiring and installing systems like that on any of my cars....I guess I'm just weird like that and have seen electronic gremlins creep up on like installs on other's cars. The business side of my brain asks PAG all the time why an available option wasn't presented either at initial order from factory or again at least a easy (pre wired) dealer installed accessory option because if I took a poll I would wager many would of selected it or had dealer install it. I normally could care less but it makes backing out of parking space and garage much easier with the wing blocking much of view especially at night. I was told a factory solution might be on the way but I'm not holding out hope. Maybe I need to start getting comfortable with idea of someone screwing with wiring to install one of these aftermarket solutions?

I agree, it should have at least been an option.
I had a rear view camera installed aftermarket and it is seamless integration (though the park assist lines are fixed--an issue with Porsche not the camera company)

although, they may have eclipsed the previous RS's performance, does not mean they will give it proprietary RS components. Simply put, they won't.

- small power bump of about 15hp
- updated PCM; larger screen size and iOS and android interface; displays what is exactly on your phone
- 918 steering wheel
- fix the dang issue with not being able to secure your six point harness under the LWB
- perhaps folding LWB
- integrated camera for track app; ok, that's a wish

Next gen, 992 will have the glass touch center console like in 918.

I'd say a 4.0L engine in the 991.2 GT3 is probably not going to happen. Why would they? They could easily bump the 3.8L to 500hp, leaving a more potent 4.0L for the 991.2 GT3 RS. And then maybe something like a 4.2L in a 991.2 GT3 RS Limited Edition car (numbered) to end the 991 generation.

I'm sorry to say it, but the .2 GT3 will not get a 4.0L engine, as the torque and street creed of a 4.0L will be the hallmark of 991.1 and .2 RS.

I expect for the 991.2 GT3------
1-the 3.8 engine to be tuned a bit to produce 490-495 hp with same torque.
2-modernize the PCM for modern smartphones as part of adding backup cameras for 2017 models.
3-a few cosmetic tweaks with new colors for exterior and deviating stitching, black LED headlights , and 918 steering wheel.

All in all, I don't expect enough change in the .2 for me to trade in my 991 GT3 until they finally drop a 4.0L. 510hp NA engine in the 992 GT3 around 2020.

Just put down a deposit with two dealerships. The 991.2 GT3 should be arriving in the fall of 2016 as a 2017 model. You should be close to the head of the line if you place a deposit now, 18 months early.

But put down a deposit at TWO dealerships. You can always be screwed by a shady dealer, particularly in California.

This very statement is exactly why you are wrong in your predictions. Porsche just doesn't play that way. Whatever they come up with, it will be just enough to push you to want to upgrade; otherwise, their whole scheme is broked.

That's impossible. All California Porsche dealers are honorable and beyond reproach. Name me one shady or unscrupulous Porsche dealer in the Golden State? Oh, never mind...

PS. The larger/wealthier P dealers do have large trees on their properties...but that doesn't necessarily make them 'shady'.
