So are you 17 now?

2012 Cayman R, gateway drug. 32 yr old

I had been following Porsche for a while, but I never really understood the appeal. One day my wife and I were strolling through a Porsche/Mercedes dealer and saw a used black boxster spyder. We had no intentions of driving it, but while we were looking at it the salesman suggested we go for a spin. That was the turning point. We almost bought that car, but the timing just wasn’t right for us. At the time, we were a BMW family. After that test drive, I got my first track experience in a Porsche as a ride along with an instructor in a 2011 GT3RS. Shortly thereafter, I ordered a Cayman R. In hindsight, I should have just bought a GT3RS new, but I wasn’t ready to spend so much. Since then, I have bought and sold enough Porsches to easily exceed what that initial purchase would have set me back. It took another year or so before my wife got out of her BMW X5 and in to a Cayenne GTS and I recently sold my M3. I have no plans to return to BMW.

2006 Seal Gray Boxster S at the ripe old age of 27. It took me about a month to go from "This is a fun little sports car" to "holy ****, this is the most incredible piece of machinery I have ever driven".

Soon after, I switched from selling Audi's to Porsche, and never looked back.

I should have mentioned for all the youngsters in the group that my '79 SC had an MSRP of $29,800.

Alan, unfortunately no, they went when I sold the car which in itself was unfortunate; should never have let that one go.
