Chris, the following may be of some help with the hardwire, depending which way you decide to go. I posted it a while back when I installed my V1.
I have mixed feelings about the Blendmount. It's very secure but I'm not crazy about how obvious and intrusive it is hanging below the mirror. Personal taste.

Mike, as always, has very good points!
From the picture shown of the G mount in the install photos from 6speed,
one can get an idea how low it hangs. Low hanging fruit.
I have use suction cups in all my cars. I just replace them once a year. I have 4 of them. I use the V-1 hard wire kit and a add a fuse. I have a couple of savy's but the don't work that great with the port in the fuse box in the passenger footwell.
Thanks to all. im going to give the Blendmount a try. Looks fairly clean. Not sure I'll mind placement below the mirror. Very tired of the suction cups.
I use the V1 supplied Visor mount on the Driver's Visor. The V1's controls remain easily accessible and its display screens easily seen. The upper windshield tint conceals the unit and makes it almost invisible from the outside which discourages anyone breaking in to steal it. It also is not visible to anyone standing next to your driver window checking your license and registration. It is the highest mounting point which maximizes detection distance. It is easy to conceal the power cable running it on top of the visor, under the windshield and A pillar molding down to the fuse box. It is easily unclipped and can be removed and stored it in the glove compartment if parked in dubious neighborhoods or when running in HPDEs.
And no need to pay additional money for a special mount. Only downside is you can no longer flip the visor down to shield the sun without removing the unit first.
Slightly OT but I just got V1 and frankly it sucks in NorCal
Goes off driving by every European car at night even, 4 hour drive it was quiet for maybe 5 minutes. Finally gave up and threw it in glovebox
What gives?
What setting are you running?....It does suck that the new Audi's, Mercedes, etc give off a signal with their accident avoidance system....my V1 does the same thing....
