I would imagine with the high revving engine hitting 9k this may be a potential cooling issue. The large intake sucks in massive amounts of air, and the turbo has added cooling on the side rear panel vents. Agree it looks different, but MO the GT3 key design element is the rear wing.

I'm with you.

If you look at his, he doesn't have a standard grill.

There are vents raised catching the air like the one you have pictured.

I'm curious what grill that is he has on there.

Waiting .....

Looking at his, even with the mods, the airflow doesn't look like it would be equivalent.

If it's not broke, don't fix it.

The wing is such an iconic piece to the GT3.

Not a huge fan of clears or the wing removal. Enjoy though!

I see no way the engine can perform as it should without the airflow as designed....

Not sure if it makes sense to downgrade and make it look like a lesser car? The wing is iconic to the GT3.

I would totally do this mod, if it came with a center console button to switch back to a stock OEM GT3 spec.

Now, that would be cool.

GTS by day, GT3 by night.

Looks like a dragon with its tail cut off. Like it lost something in a fight. Duck tails are nice on the right variant but I can't imagine seeing a cup car with an intentional spoiler either drive around with that kind of rear. Just loses its stance as well. Hope you like it though.

I applaud you doing whatever you want, its your car... aesthetically, the big wings on the GT3/RS are my least favorite part of the car...felt that way on the last ones, and on these, and especially the new RS... I think that a wingless Porsche in the back is just so iconic in shape, back to the original 60s 911/912 models. I love the look of a huge phat azz Porsche rear, with clean uninterrupted lines all the way up to the roof. So in terms of looks, I can see the allure. What I would never ever do is modify my car from stock that way, and especially if I thought that it might be detrimental to performance. The downforce and air intake issues are real, I believe.

But instead of making you feel bad about the picture you just drew, I am going to take the opposite approach and say that if you like it, and are happy when you look at it, then its the best picture in the world

Good effort, but car lost its distinctiveness.

Looks good, but why on a GT3? It's just wrong.

Very nice car. Congrats! I'm sure you'll speak to the wing and ram air issue as everyone else seem curious too.

Since you mentioned it, my question would be; what special qualities do you feel have been "imbued" by Porsche in the 2015 that weren't in the 2014, aside from the availability of LWB's?
