Default Instead of slicing the Passenger Seat for Sub-Strap

I know there are a number of members interested in doing a 6PT harness install on the LWB Seats including the passenger side.

As far as I've read, the only solution is to cut the bucket and cut the seat cushion to allow for the sub-strap.

There's no workaround on the carbon bucket, but as the seat cushion velcro's into both driver and passenger seat…. has anybody thought about just ordering a replacement drivers side cushion (with the passthrough cutout) for the passenger seat rather than slicing up the existing passenger cushion? Anybody have the part number?

Curious to receive feedback before I explore this option further…

Thanks!

I think a dealers parts dept could answer that question. Hopefully that would be an option...hopefully less than $500.00. In the end, if you get a surgeons suture needle, sewing up the cut would not be too hard.

It's so easy you are going to be sorry you spent more than $20 for the replacement cushion. Once it's done, you can't see anything cosmetically.

Don't waste your money, but to each his own....

I've decided to go with the JetPilot Harness from TeamTech Motorsports. It is SFI 16.1 certified 6 pt harness that has four attachment points (2 shoulder strap, 2 lap) and does not require going through the seat. I was skeptical that this would pass tech inspection, so I checked with the head tech guy in the event I run in and he was familiar with the product and said it's approved.

Here's a link to TeamTech's catalog. See page 11 (page 13 of the pdf). The owner, Curt, is very helpful. I have no affiliation with them.

I had the Jet Pilot harnesses in my viper. They are very secure, but Impossibly (for me) bulky. I replaced them with Schroths, with extended leg straps, which can be used/mounted the same way. Allan

For those with harnesses. Are you all caged or running a harness bar?

Cheers,

Just checked the LWB in my car. The seats came from my dad's car that was just picked up this past Monday.

There IS a slot in the passenger side cushion already. Maybe they changed something in manufacturing.

There is no hole in the seat bucket itself.

Very strange, but great for you! Did you say the seats were taken from another (your dads) car? Were the cushions swapped driver to passenger in the process, or do you have two cushions with holes?

I did swap the seats from my car (delivered 3 weeks ago). I verified that both sides have holes in the cushions. Maybe they ran out of the Non-holed version.
