I could do w/o the GT3 pricing. That's not a 'value' play but a speculative one.... I like the car and the exclusivity but I'll stick w/ the GT3 and add the RS instead at that price.

i just find that a lot of money for what will look to me and everyone else like a gussied up c2s... in the $135-140k category, aren't there lots of other Porsches, used and new, that you would rather have? Not that the 991 gt3 is a fair comparison, very different targeted usages, audiences, etc. But many on here aren't paying much more than that for their GT3s, with very different tranny, significant body work, wheels, engine, etc. etc. etc.

Prices for US in dollars:
981 Boxster $51,400
981 Boxster S $63,300
981 Boxster gts $73,500
991 $84,300
991S $98,900
991 gts $115,195
991 gt3 $130,400
So rather than talk about this as a $135K offering (similar to gt3 base), think of it as a $115K gts...plus options without a premium for a very unique PTS paint job! In the Porsche world of pricing, that's not too bad a 'value'! And certainly, if you maintain those strict standards of comparing other 991 variants to the base gt3 pricing, PAG couldn't sell many 991S, gts, gts 4, turbo or turbo S, all that with options normally list above $135K!
PAG does these kinds of targeted marketing of vehicles all the time. It recently had a special Porsche UK edition!

It had a Dutch 'Pon Edition' in the .2 997:

And it had a similar Limited Edition vehicle in 'Azzuro Blue California' back in 2005 for the 50th anniversary of the Porsche Club of America.

So think of this Limited Edition in 'Club Blau' as a payback to the PCA for services rendered....

"Value-based" pricing. We set the prices, not Porsche. The only problem: the more we want something, the more we pay.
do not want...

but a general observation is that as long as people will pay the much higher margins for (primarily) cosmetically upgraded models, that's a very good thing for profits... its no blinding insight that the best "value" Porsche for a buyer is a special/GT/limited model with no options. The exact opposite end of the spectrum would be the base models with gobs of cosmetic upgrades.

I thought PCA did a better job on their 60th anniversary Chopard Mille Miglia watches than they did on their 60th anniversary car.
