Right - that's why my post said halo seats vs side air bags, that's the safety trade you're making by switching the seats. Which is better? Airbag gives much more coverage, but is also a bag. If you're considering the seats with the removable halo inserts, you've added additional failure points vs a fully rigid seat.

Would make sure you understand that trade off before making the switch.

I honestly have no clue.

agreed completely!

I'll be adding a fully rigid seat with a non-removable halo.

Totally understand the trade off.

My feeling is that the side airbags are there for the reason you described - mainly to protect you if you get T-boned by another car/truck.

I think the likelihood of having a lateral neck snapping injury that the halo will protect against is higher than needing protection from interior intrusion.

Let's hope I don't need to find out!

KEEP THE SEATS It's an engineering mistake to change them. Convince her that she is safer in them. In 40 years of Porsche's my wife has not ridden in them more than 100 times. She has a twin turbo King Ranch, Cayman S and her own MB. I have sport buckets coming. It's my toy. Gosh, that sounds selfish.

Haha - I honestly don't care that much either way.

I'm putting a different seat in for the track.

They were available when I ordered and looked awesome so I clicked the box.
