definitely the rear engine lid. very easy to adjust yourself too with a socket wrench or crescent wrench. make sure you keep the 2 sides even. PM me if you need more details.

In the first pic note the location of the two rubber bumpers that are under the engine lid at each corner. The second pic shows a close up of a bumper. Use a 13mm wrench to loosen the lock nut. This will allow you to turn the threaded bumper so it seats more firmly against the corresponding bumper on the carbon fiber panel. Make sure to retighten the lock nut after making the adjustment. It shouldn't take more than a complete rotation or two of each bumper to achieve the desired result.

You're welcome; others mentioned the engine lid too so consider it a group effort. Glad they didn't start taking your interior apart to try and find the rattle!

I had horrible noise when I fist left the dealer at delivery. Sounded like two steel rods banging together. Would do it any time I hit a bump. Got home after 120 mile ride home. Before next drive I opened the rear hatch to show a friend and slammed shut. Didn't shut first time so a little more force and latched. Haven't noticed any odd noise since.

I sat in the car while I had my wife rap on the wing, and that was it!

There are two rubber bumpers under the edge of the lid, each with a 13mm lock nut. Loosen the nuts, turn the threaded bumpers a turn or two. retighten the nuts and then retry. You'll know if you've gone too far because the lid won't look flush and may not close properly. For me, this fixed the noise.
After taking mine out for its first proper drive today, I think I have the same issue. Is it a rattle / vibration sort of noise? I am hoping this is the cause as it is definitely annoying. Other than this, the car is amazing and ranks up there with fun factor as my GT3RS

Yeah, and in my case it sounded like it was coming from directly behind my head. To make it go away I had to adjust the bumpers to the point where it takes a firm push and drop to get the lid to latch, but not so much that the lid and rear bodywork are uneven.

Really appreciate your post and advice. Extremely helpful. I am wondering how many have this issue.

I had this same exact problem with my 2016 GT3. I thought for sure the noise was coming from the rear trim around the rear window. It was driving me nuts. I followed the advice in this thread and the rattle went away. Took all of 20 seconds. Thank you!

I have the same issue, when sitting in the driver's seat the sound seem to be coming from the rear on the passenger's side. rattle noise over uneven pavement.

went to the dealer and they adjusted the rear deck lid to the point it needs to be slammed to close it but I still hear the noise.

My RS and 1 other is at the dealer, hoping for a fix

Put apiece of 3m double sided tape on top of the two posts towards front of where rear lid sits.

That solved it for me. Dealer was ready to disassemble rear suspension.
