Very funny. It cost me a 700 up charge now it's 5500? On the C2S it's not a good color to trade for a DD. I did ok because it only had 4100 miles.

Porsche canceling PTS is dismal news, if true.

BMW offers custom paint on ALL models. The approval process takes days. The delivery time is only extended by 4-6 weeks. Lots of BMW enthusiasts order "Individual" cars this way. If BMW can perfect the mechanism to offer this, VW can obviously do same. BMW paint varying colors in the same automated factory line, car after car. I've stood and watched it. Takes seconds to shift paint batch and they rake in $5k per unit. Sounds like simple added revenue to me.

Not to mention that non-PTS BMW M color choices are better than Porsche.

I found my C2S magnificent. Easily the best colour I've ever had on a car. Much much better than the sapphire they sell now. Much deeper and richer.

I heard it was now very difficult to get new PTS colors approved - know some 918 buyers that just gave up.

I'm wondering if this is a no to new color approval (i.e. true PTS) vs ordering an already approved color.

We're at the end of the 991 production and 918, so makes sense to not be testing new colors.

The VW influence is becoming more and more aggressive and unfortunately will probably end my future ownership of this marque. Can you imagine a Porscche development program that currently is proposing sharing parts bins with many future VW cars? VW has a horrible long term quality reputation (past couple decades) and even in Germany is not known for spending in areas that need R&D for reliability purposes. Porsche as we know it is changing!

My view on PTS is either offer it all the time or not at all. This hit or miss tactic is misleading and frustrating to the buyer. I can't see why a company as big and profitable as porsche could make an option that seems rather simple so complicated.

From the factory...they had to heat up the roof and sand it out.

If they are going to can PTS then.

They should offer "car in base coat" option for a 3K discount over standard "free" colours.

This option would be ordered by those who wanted PTS. Instead they would receive the car in base undercoat and would have it wrapped immediately in any colour they should desire. The net cost would be a PTS coloured car for same price as a normal colour :-)

Yikes! Not really acceptable on a brand new Porsche is it. But what you gonna do - give them back the keys and wait another decade for a new Voodoo Blue one. Hands tied. Worth it though IMO!

Exactlty..was considering walking away then realized no PTS for me. I did get them to waive the charge for PTS...
