DME Removal to Get Clone by TTFS
I wanted to get Stage 2 tune done by Frank Smith, but I didn't want to have my factory DME messed with. The solution they and Dundon Motorsports came up with was cloning my factory unit, then tuning the clone. Removal and install is pretty easy.
Next step is to get the car down to the dyno to test the results.

Sounds good, makes tons of power, lighter, cooler, what's not to like?
Can you feel to power difference, just running the roads you know?
We gotto turn you into a track junkie so we can analyze sector times ;-)
Look forward to the AMP days..
Thanks for the write up as always. Great contributor.
So, still using OEM center. I think we need a stronger one but time will tell.
Even with a cloned ECU, can the factory still tell if they want to play games when a motor goes bad? And I think they maybe are working on this but with ECU you could perhaps chip it so that the flaps are always closed or always open. With 997's I just had it permanently unplugged = open but I like the quiet option when needed.
ECU needed to have no CEL?
I'd think that it only creates less heat and so would add to the longevity of the motor..

You swap in the factory ecu before warranty work, then no one can tell anything was done because nothing was done. Even with the modified ECU it would be really tough for someone to notice. They would have to pull the hex file from the ECU and run a compare program. So they would have to have a reason to look...
We are working on permanent open and stock program for the exhaust valves. No reason for permanent closed, I can think of.
Permanent 100% no chance of CEL, yes ECU tune needed, nice to have cars not be run for emissions in some states...
90% of the time the system will have no CEL from how the post cat O2 sensor bung was designed. It limits flow to the sensor in a similar way that a cat would limit O2 to the sensor. Only when lugging the engine at low RPM high load or when there is a difference bank to bank (like 2014's and cars with coils that are starting to go) is there a chance of a CEL.
And even then a $10.00 code reader clears them. I just bought a big box of $10.00 code readers to support our customers that get a code and don't know what it is from, sometimes it's misfire codes as those also set a CEL...

My friend Sean was selling his car. I told him I wanted dibs on his OEM black LEDs. He also needed someone to swap platinum satin wheels with so he could sell car as stock. Luckily I knew someone that wanted black wheels. It looks as if I have a new car now.
I need to do a maintenance decon/correction, so stay tuned for more videos.

I am so tempting now.

Matt I gotta hand it to you.
I could only dream to have the time to post up these very helpful and informative videos!
BTW Love the color..hehe...
I have thought of what my car would look like with black rims and know I know.

congrats on the black headlights! I would love to do the swap but found the OEM black to be very pricey, I guess if someone wanted to "swap" it would be a no brainer.
Btw, I know you just posted this but if I am not mistaken you got the tune a while ago, did you have a chance to dyno it yet?

Three Wheelin'
I wonder what is going to happen with all these aftermarket exhausts now that Porsche is requesting pictures of the exhaust when the engines need rebuild/replacement under warranty. I wonder what is in Porsche's head. Are they going to blame the aftermarket exhausts and deny warranty?
Aside, the black LEDs look amazing!
