Would you share with us what brand your wheels are?
Are they center wheels or did you change to 5 lugs?
What size's tires are you using?
What Brand Hoosiers?
I apologize but I must have created some confusion. The 991 GT3 on the track was NOT mine but someone I know's. If you were asking about 991 GT3 set-ups, I don't know other than they were Hoosier R6 and IIRC 19" wheels.

Now, if I misunderstood and you WERE indeed asking about my car (987.2 Spyder): wheels are O.Z. Allegerita HLT 18 x 8.5" ET 53 and 18 x 10" ET 40. Backup track wheels are OEM Cayman S 18 x 8" ET 57 and 18 x 9" ET 40 (or 43). Both 5-lugs. Nitto NT-01 245/40/18 and 275/40/18. Hoosier R6 245/35/18 and 275/35/18.

+6. I think Pirelli slicks are well-regarded as well.?

Wait a sec, what on-track warranty? I thought Porsche's official stance was no warranty for cars driven on a track?

Question for the RL crowd:

In the 991 GT3, there is the specific 'No slicks" demand from Porsche, or I assume it will void your warranty. But the warranty is NOT voided by track use.

In the 997 cars, wasn't it stated that "track use" would void your warranty? And that it ended up being a dealer specific choice on how strictly that was enforced?

What I am getting at is that the 991 GT3 is taking some heat for the "no slicks" statement, but it isn't like the owners manual of the 997 GT3s said "use of racing slicks permitted"

In fact, the 991 actually is covered under warranty with "track use", it is just that there is a strict maintenance schedule related to track use. Is this correct??

Actually, not 100% true:
For the 997 GT3, use on the track does not void the warranty. It states that if you break something while using it on the track, it will not be covered...but does not void the warranty.

From the manual:
Your vehicle warranty does not cover use in
competition, racing or track use or other events.
Components and/or parts that fail during racing
or driving events (including Porsche sponsored
events) will not be covered by the manufacturer
new car limited warranty or the pre-owned vehicle
warranty.

and later:
Note again that in no case will Porsche warrant
any parts damaged while racing your vehicle, on
or off the track.

So if you break something while on the track with a 991GT3, is it covered under warranty? If so, that's very cool, and very genrous of Porsche...

Yes, there is a specific maintenance schedule for maintaining the warranty for track use.

My dealer said that they will not cover PCCBs under track use. I dont know if this is instruction from Porsche and how they are going to enforce it.

^They dont cover any brake parts under warranty is my guess so that's no surprise. Ceramics may last forever on street but they damn sure wont last forever driven in anger on track.

Yep, brakes are wear and tear.

As mentioned already, you weren't meant use slicks on any previous car, it's just that it specifically mentions it for the 991.

I really don't see the point anyway; track days aren't for racing.

Driving in anger on the track? Nah, more like with a big smile on my face.

Here is the track maintenance info again. I've also included the regular maintenance schedule which is different in some cases for the 991 GT3 than other 991 models.
