Alright, I'm going to stop being nice and politically correct...

JUST GET THE DAMN BUCKETS ALREADY! IT'S A GT3, NOT GRAND TOURER OR TURBO! WHETHER YOU TRACK OR NOT, GET THE BUCKETS.

Pretty much. It's really as simple as that. All the reasons for not getting the buckets are the exact same reasons one should get a Carrera, Turbo, or a GTS instead (though personally I'd put buckets in every Porsche I own).

I'm debating on leasing a Cayman GTS. If I go that route, I'd gladly trade it's sports seats (with alcantara and deviated Carmine red stitching) for your buckets.

Except he would have GTS embroidered on the headrest of the sport seats of his gt3, and you would have gt3 on the head rests of the bucket seats in your GTS. Then there's the issue of the deviated silver stitch

As well as the fact of the expense to convert the seats back to OEM at time of lease return.

I've daily-driven sports buckets in my Boxster since 2011. No problem at all, very comfortable even on long drives. Only real downside is it's more awkward getting in/out, but you soon get used to it. As someone else wrote, they give you a much better connection to the car and you feel more of what's going on.

you should get a turbo, GTS, etc. if you don't want 1-piece lightweight race bucket seats, but full leather with deviated stitching, leather sun visors, etc... lots of defense on why all that belongs in the gt3.... haha...I love this place

don't get leather visors for any model..you cant remove the liberal nanny stickers. Buy aftermarket w/o stickers (US Cars).

Guys I know I might get killed here but I didn't order buckets as this will be my daily driver. My brother had a 2010 RS with buckets that wee painfully uncomfortable and hard to get in and out of. So that's was it for me. But u still wanted the GT3.

Love the enthusiasm for the buckets, but everyone's gotta do what they've gotta do. Not quite as young here as I used to be, and have had a history of sporadic back issues. Makes no sense for me to order seats with limited adjustability for a car I anticipate taking long trips in--when I can't even try the seats out for a minute--let alone a long trip. And the alternative of getting them and then swapping them out if I don't like them is one more hassle than I need. But....maybe next time !!😄

PS--and most importantly...my wife doesn't want them😄

I also find the GT2 seats (aka sport bucket seats) fantastic! I take long trips in the car and never have an issue. I bought two tempurpedic lumbar pillows (one for each seat). For me - I need support (I'm 5'4") in my lower back - otherwise the seat doesn't fit. A dear friend has the same seats in his 997.2 GT3 and LOVES the pillows (promptly ordered them after we swapped cars on our trip to Road Atlanta last year - he was using a cheap lumbar pillow and couldn't believe how great the tempurpedic version felt, and it fits the seat nicely - he is 6'1")

With the lumbar pillow in place I can drive for hours in the car (and I do on a regular basis). Just got back from Watkins Glen (roughly 4+ hours one way).

I love those seats. My only complaint is that they seem to curve a bit forward behind my head which pushes my helmet forward. At first I had to get used to it - and recently I had the seat shimmed to raise it and lean it back slightly (my HANS was getting stuck in the well where the harnesses pass through) and with the new position my head isn't pushed forward by the top of the seat. Without a helmet on the seat (in it's original position) did not push my head forward.
