Default Do I need the chrono?

My build locks in a few days. I'm settled on all options, except chrono. Does it add anything at all to the driving dynamics, or is it just a big stop watch?

Other than that, I'm still flip-flopping between red or white. I just might have to get one in each colour...

Thanks,

Vivian.

I too was undecided. It was tough decision. Eventually decided to drop it. We shall see whether it was the right decision or not. It'll be my first 911 without the clock on the dash!

It's a stop watch w/ some track monitoring on the 2015 but it has no impact on driving dynamics on the GT3.

I am currently going through this dilemma as I like the stop watch on the dash which i have on my 991 C2S. However, with the availability of other aftermarket timing/track monitoring software and Im not sure if it even syncs with the GoPro, I'm not so sure. At least I still have 3 weeks before my build locks.

If it were the 2014 price, I think $400ish, I'd have it. At its present price and function, I passed. Bad bang for the buck IMO.

Dan (tried hard to stay under $150k but failed)

I have it - it is (was) a nice value option for 400 but not worth the 1600 in my view. My 911 loaner did not have it and the "plain" dash did not bother me at all.

In the end; you have to decide if having this on your dash is worth the money. I think it completes the dash and w/o it the dash looks a little bland. Now; even if I were getting a 2015 and had to pay the new upcharge I think I would still get it. I will never use it except as a clock and for a dash ornament

For $1850, it makes little sense to buy it just for the clock. Only get it if you find value in the track precision app software it comes with.

Dropped the 2300.00 clock once you add a color dial to it for 500.00. I have the clock in my C2S, and never used it. Cost was not an issue, but made no sense for me personally.

It's worth it. The track app means Porsche is ok with you tracking the sheet out of this car...lol

I too struggled with this option. I did not get it. Instead used the money for extented leather and steering column.

I did not get chrono ($1800), special paint color (GT silver $3200), carbon fiber trim ($2600), and stuck with the base seats over the 18 way ($2600) to have enough for PCCB.

I agree if it was a 14 and it was just $400, then I would have got it. Couldn't get over the high cost for just a stopwatch, clock and app that I would never use.

Good luck on your decision.

And FWIW, I kept mine under $150K.
