Does the factory painted key have areas painted (e.g. the center back) that are not painted when you buy the aftermarket replacement side covers?

i was going to multi-quote the hilarity in this thread which started with "i'm going to xpel my key" but gave up after the 5th funny post. my girlfriend started reading along with me (we're on a flight home otherwise she would never take the time) and asked me "how old are these kids you're talking to?"... she was reading Nick Nolte's posts but others made her eyes open wide also.

I think she'll be grateful as soon as we're over water so i lose wifi... I'm worried I'm going to get a talking to... she is really frowning when I told her i was considering going to Purple (mahogany)...

The key is ugly. What's wrong with a normal key. The bulge it caused in your pocket could be useful if you were short changed in that department. I bought the aftermarket white covers on eBay for $25 and they are as good as the 149$ factory option. The dealer boy laughed when he saw my key and said I'd been sucked in till I told him they weren't real and only $25 then the laugh was on him! The get scratched when you drop them or have other keys on the ring in your pocket so xpell away folks!!!

I should wear tighter pants and stick the key next to my groin. Every little bit helps!

That's why Porsche offers the matching leather key pouch. Anybody get suckered into that?

Agreed. Time to switch threads and get some dimensions of my rear end to see if it will fit in the buckets

Lol.

I think the thread is hilarious. Mostly because I'm in 8th grade.

What the other guy said. If you have a black car you don't need to worry about the painted key.

My 9 year old daughter asked my why they gave me the 4 door Porsche key for my Carrera. Way over the top observant.

Ha! That's awesome!

Sometimes Nolte gets ahold of the keyboard and uses my login info. Bastard.
